It's good to be out of hospital until you see the bill. 5 weeks of hospitalization : roughly $2000 (two Catgirls) after SS+mutual insurance kicked in.

This is why I'm glad I live in Canada, my three week stay in hospital back in 07 cost me a total of $75 and that was for the ambulance. This is with no insurance to reduce costs.

And surly the team and owner make plenty more than that. So it can't be that big of a loss for them, could it?

I really hope I'm never in the shower when an earthquake happens. That would suck being covered in soap all naked and wet and have the entire bathroom shake and sway and you have nowhere to run.

To put it in perspective, this is tied for the largest fine the NFL has given for something involving football (an owner was fine $1 million and pleading guilty to a felony charge). The other time this fine was given was when Bill Belichick was caught spying on other teams. Player fines are usually $50k max for things on field and that is for a second offense of contact with an official or fighting.

What really hurts is the loss of their head coach for a year and the draft picks. Second round you are still trying to pick to address your team's immediate needs and are also good for high level trades.

If you feel so strongly about it maybe you should do something other than harangue random people on the internet when the topic comes up.

This change needs to come from masses of people, the view of the world that leads to conclusion that it's needed has to be in the minds of public, so the most effective thing one can do is to change the minds of as many people as possible. Without exhausting oneself in the process. That's what I do.

Of course, one could say that I just react when I see something crazy being said. That too. That's how ideas spread.

Fuck it, Canada has everything. I'd probably die from a mere cold as soon as I move in, though.

What I forgot to mention is those fuckers only paid for 2 weeks while it is clearly stated on the MI papers I can get up to a 2-month refund if hospitalization is that long. Paperwork always brings a lot of trouble.

Also, for those who don't know how MI works, you have to cough up a substantial amount of money every month just like a regular insurance. So yeah, if they fuck things up, you have the right to complain.

Sure, if you're an idiot. And if this needs to come from "the masses" then maybe you should do it in a place that isn't full of people that don't agree with your viewpoint. Because that's kind of like motivating a skyscraper to move of its own volition.

I mean, the sheer fact that you can't come up with a valid argument from your own brain and fall back on quoting other people doesn't give others much stock in what you're saying, since when you can only repeat stuff back like a myna bird it makes you seem stupid. Not that you are, but to convince others, which is what you're trying to do to get this information out there and maybe reform something you consider broken, you need to at least try to manage the information you have and reorder it in a way that makes sense to you that you can feasibly get out to "the masses" so they'll be more willing to help someone with ideas, rather than exemplary quoting skills.

And if you reply by stating that you're not trying to pull others to your side or that you don't care, then you're a liar, and a bad one at that. Simply because you wouldn't get a giant bug up your ass and castigate the "copyright holders" at every opportunity.
