Man, after years of absence, simman returned and started working on Simgirls again. I'm going to try the newest version when I have the time, but playing these games is like a blast of Nostalgia. I think this was one of the first things that led me on the path to the world of Hentai.

Even though the graphics may not be as pretty and the storyline may not be as deep as the Eroges I started playing, something about Simgirls still captivates me.

I don't consider myself to be very convincing. Not in comparison with arguments I read before I decided where I stand on copyright. I believe you'd benefit more, with less waste of time, from concise and down-to-earth arguments on [www.techdirt.com] Techdirt, [torrentfreak.com] Torrentfreak, [falkvinge.net] Rick Falkvinge's site, and possibly from more leisurely lecture of [www.thepublicdomain.org] The Public Domain: Enclosing the Commons of the Mind , [www.dklevine.com] Against Intellectual Monopoly , or [mises.org] Against Intellectual Property, all of which are available legally to read for free (and also to buy, should one wish to do so). They're all steps in continued effort of gathering facts and polishing the argument which has potential to become much more powerful than the 'property' approach polished by marketing departments and lobbyists for years now. This argument is just not yet there in terms of presentation. Possibly people's minds need to shift a bit as well, to consider its points. I just present incomplete summaries of facets of it, building on things I happen to remember, and often forgetting better examples I could have used.

I've saved a few of these links for reading later. I'll take a closer look when I'm in a more neutral mindset. At a quick skim so far, though, several of these arguments really fail to grasp some simple realities. It's a nice theory to say "You can't create anything, you can only discover it" or "How can you claim credit for creating something when all that matter is already there to begin with?", but...
