QUOTE However: Do not flame new users for minor violations of these rules. Hit the report button, and either point out their error without jumping at their throat, or STFU. Is this new, or am I just oblivious?

QUOTE(radixius @ Feb 23 2012, 08:29) I've always hated it when anyone does so because no one honestly gives a shit. Anyone can do whatever they want, you know, whatever, but it's fucking asinine.

I almost feel like I'm a hipster when it comes to the pony thing. I never really cared about it all that much but it was kind of a funny novelty when a few people were using the references like a meme. Now that everybody just fucking crowbars ponies into everything, I'm just like "fucking good lord, I was ok with it until it became mainstream".

I just found it to be a stupid thing to thank someone for a bland square of an avatar is all.

I just found it to be a stupid thing to thank someone for a bland square of an avatar is all. Explain it as you want - it's still a butthurt. Bland square avatar? Pfft... Maybe I'm not Da Vinci, but like hell I care. I just make avatars for people when I feel like I want to. Now let me tell you about my "bland image resizing techniques" a little. When I want to make an avatar for somebody - that's what I do: If user doesn't have an avatar at all: 1. Go to the Google Pictures and type his nickname in search bar. 2. Scrolling through the shitload of pics for something relevant or good-lookin'. 3. If that's not enough - going to my image folders scrolling through even more images to find something relevant too. 4. Make several different avatars (usually from four to six) to give user something to choose from. If user already have an avatar, but it's small or it's a low-quality picture: 1. Go to the Google Pictures and search for the same image with bigger resolution. 2. Resize, improve, change the background if it has lack of quality or bad perspective. 3. No better pic? I'm taking the current picture and go to the step 2. After that I send my work to the user. If he/she likes it and decide to use it - the only thing I say is something like "I'm glad you like it", and never ask for anything in return. If somebody give me something for it or want to thank me publicly - okay, but I don't demand it. That's all. Maybe I'm not giving people very much, but at least I give them something. And they're happy about it. And that's enough for me.

[ news.yahoo.com] Teenage girl dies after inhaling helium at partyI'm not gonna lie, I snickered a bit. Seriously though, read it. QUOTE Last weekend, 14-year-old Ashley Long told her parents she was going to a slumber party. But instead of spending the night watching videos and eating popcorn two blocks away, she piled into a car with a bunch of her friends and rode to a condo in Medford, Ore., where police say the big sister of one of her friends was throwing a party with booze and marijuana.
After drinking on the drive, and downing more drinks in the condo, it came time for Ashley to take her turn on a tank of helium that everyone else was inhaling to make their voices sound funny. 14 year old is getting drunk and high with a bunch of older kids and the highlight of the article is the dangers of helium. It wasn't the helium that killed her, it was peer pressure and her own stupidity.

Kids today have no common sense or a healthy fear to parental punishment, the worst they get is a "time out" or a "therapist" to solve his or her issues. And the parents? doing more important things of course. I was raised with this truth. Once you have children, you sacrifice your life and time for them. my mom and dad taught me that.

Those are strictly novelty, I can assure you. They're usually only enforced when discouraging undesirables. It was fun when a few of us from GSC did it, but given the way the Gen Chat Pony thread went and the novelty of the fad wearing off on people who mostly did it for teh lulz, it was bound to either die or, unfortunately, become popular amongst the worst people on the forum. I still blame bloodluster18 for it.

I hope you accidentally say that word during a job interview or during a presentation and get laughed at and never able to work there.

Eh, I didn't even notice that until now. ._. Well... doing something like that is kinda stupid, I gotta say. I mean, everypony is entitled to speak as it pleases, as long as it's comprehensible, but making a ix like that...... That's nearly obnoxious.... - -- Oh no.... I'm taking the wrong stuff too seriously again. I should probably just start to QUOTE post positive or GTFO!
