QUOTE(derpymal @ Nov 29 2011, 13:52) People with comm degrees: the people who go to college for the sake of going to college.
Bingo. You can typically also put sociology in that group too.

Civil Defense Van: Calling all scientists! Calling all scientists! Be advised that there will be a worldwide conference on global warming in Kyoto, Japan. Homeopathic Doctor: I have a degree in homeopathic medicine. Civil Defense Van: You've got a degree in baloney!

Let's go with a hypothetical: Let's say I already know as much about how computers work as anyone can teach me and I'm thinking of getting a Computer Sciences Baccalaureate for no other reason than to shut people up, how does something .0038 of an inch thick make me any more intelligent than I am now? Really mostly curious on the justification.

It doesn't, It just looks good on paper. Unfortunately the world works on whatever piece of paper you have. I can build cars, and computers, and a bunch of other stuff, but I don't have have that on paper, which means nothing. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I dunno, my sister's finishing a doctorate next summer but she won't get hired anywhere because she has no work experience. Six of one, half dozen of the other.
Besides, I'm already working in the field I want to be in, a degree would do nothing but cost money.

Dude, I did 4 years of trade school to get qualified as a mechanic.
people stacking shelves at the supermarket make the same as I do.
I'd rather be poor and knowledgeable then be ascribed a crappy dead end job.
I make more selling parts on ebay then I ever did fixing cars.

I'd rather be employed and happy with what I do than broke, on the converse.

I have a degree in Police Science.
I am special.
<.<... I keep not posting things when I log on here.
_______
I just thought of the most beautiful man in the world. Not the FlapJack one.
There was this young 17 year old kid maybe 18, in my Psychology of Death and Dying class.
He was just soooooo handsome I couldn't stand it.
His project was about viking funeral rituals {apparently viking blood runs in his family} and he wore a viking hat and everything.
Everytime I saw him I melted.
That is all.
