Use a regular unpowered pruning saw. It's cheap, quiet, good exercise, requires minimal storage space, and you won't take an arm off by accident. A Sawzall is overkill for anyone not doing demo work all day every day.
Keep your wrist straight. Don't overdo it on the first day. Your wrists will get stronger. There are Japanese guys in their 90s still using pruning saws.
There are saws in the garage but that's what I'd most likely cut myself with. I think there is a pruning saw out there. I like power tools and wanted a smaller reciprocating saw, like this. [

https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-Reciprocati...d=ANK2JAILU7DZARecently, I used my mini chainsaw to remove big branches from an old tree in the side yard and was going to use it on the agave but thank goodness I didn't. I was reading agave juice is caustic and can cause rashes and blisters and the chainsaw would blow bits of that shit all over the place. Everything I read said to use a reciprocating saw instead. My friend said to dig it up like he did with his.
I killed a couple plants off in the past by spraying them with weed killer but the 20 foot death blooms sprouted and attracted bees and I had to wait months for it to dry out before I could cut the dead stalks. I might go that route again, dunno. They started growing like crazy from all the rain we've had the past few winters.
