A Malay with supremacist view scolded non-Muslims for not taking the plight of Palestinians seriously. I say they should take a mirror and take a good look at themselves:
- I recall when Sarawakians felt a brief minor quake originating from the South China Sea somewhere between 2004-2008, there were rumors that Malays in Peninsular Malaysia were mocking us in anticipation of North Borneo's "imminent doom". "A sign from Allah," they said. "That's what we get for being alcoholic and pork-eating bastards," they said.
- I recall reading how a politician from PAS (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia) once claimed that the killing of non-Muslims is justified as long as it was done in the name of "fight for Islam". - I recall reading an editorial piece in the newspaper long ago, claiming every disaster that had happened in this world (dating from the destruction of Pompeii in the ancient past to the 2004 tsunami but conveniently omitting the earthquake disasters in Iran) is "proof of Allah's wrath towards infidels". For real, a Malaysian wrote this and it was approved for publishing.
- I also recall reading in the newspaper how Christian populations in Egypt were getting persecuted in the aftermath of Mubarrak's overthrow from power. According to the article, their plights have fallen on deaf ears despite they also helped support the new government's rise to power. - The latest, when the Ukraine-Russia War broke out, many Malays laughed and mocked the Ukrainians' plight on social media.
