I am an asteroid or comet. I don't want to go anywhere near there either. I'm going to hit Florida! Sun and fun!

I had a dream last night. An evil developer was ruining a beautiful, unspoiled natural area, which he was taking away from the native Americans without even paying them for it, just like the good old days. Only one member of the tribe tried to take up arms against them, and was promptly shot dead by the police, who looked like yellow Lego cops with laser pistols. Except it turned out he didn't actually have a gun. Lego cop: "He tried to defend himself. Don't do that."
They had reengineered the river from its natural long, winding course surrounded by wetlands to a short, boring canal with no wetlands at all. But... due to climate change, there were extreme rains, the river was swollen and overflowing with brown storm water, and the new banks didn't look like they were going to hold.
I said, "We won't get to see it. Come on, let's go." We just made it across the river as the banks were starting to break apart. The police, now back to human, had genetically engineered miniature tyrannosauruses as riding mounts, and a loose police tyrannosaur was about to massacre the evacuees, when someone "accidentally" killed it with a laser shot, just as a popo was rolling up in his squad car. He started screaming psychotically at us about how he was going to kill us all for killing their precious police dinosaur.
I said, "I'm sorry about your animal. It was an accident. I'll pay for it." He said, "It's $20,000." I got out my checkbook, and noticed that the index finger of my left hand had been completely sheared off at some point while clambering over the rubble. I wrote him the check in the rain, then was holding up a roll-down metal door they were dropping, so the last evacuees could scramble undernearth, telling him that letting them go was covered by the price.
As we were going up a bridge away from the area, full of spring-loaded gates which we had to hold open to let everybody through, somebody laughed and said, "So she had $20,000?" I said, "Well... it's not like he'll get to try to cash it." Behind us, the river blew out completely, and the developer, all the workers doing his dirty work, and all his pet cops were killed.
