Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.
After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.
I've been chopping up a windfall tree, and it's tons of fun. Get off the computer, go outside and do real work with hand tools, and you'll feel better. We didn't evolve to be plugged into a firehose of unimportant information while sitting in a pod. Of course it doesn't make you happy.
We didn't evolve to live longer than 40 years or practice dental hygiene either.
Stick to it for 2-3 more years and feel the same way, and then we'll talk. People always get excited when they try out new things and then they think they've found the universal cure all for all of humanity's frustrations because they feel giddy and enthusiastic for a change. Our brains ooze endogenous morphine when we learn new things, especially ones involving physical labour, but after a few months tops this'll become routine for you, too (if you stick to it), and all the old feelings will return. Feelings of frustration and inadequacy usually have more nuanced causes than just your daily habits.
Nothing wrong with having a healthy hobby, props to you for exercising, but you make it sound like some lifechanging discovery.
