Lactose intolerance means you don't produce enough lactase enzyme to break down the lactose disaccharide into glucose & galactose which your intestine can absorb. Instead, bacteria ferment it, producing large amounts of gas.
In practice, this means that you get diarrhea every time you drink a couple glasses of milk.
The proper solution is to take a couple of lactase enzyme pills every time you're going to drink milk. They are extremely cheap in bulk, so there's no reason not to.
