Yeah, clarification is important-- when you wanted magnesium, I figured you were probably gonna toss it in a swimming pool full of children or something. Was going to suggest maybe you'd have better results with calcium or sodium or potassium

Well... Let's say sodium- it reacts fairly violently with the water. Creates a lot of heat, boils off the surface of the water, also melts the metal, causing more furious reaction.... Creates hydrogen gas, which is explosive; makes sodium hydroxide (lye) in the water.... Fun stuff. You'd need quite a lot for a swimming pool, though

Edit: If I remember correctly, potassium does the same things-- (that is catches flame, makes caustic soda, etc)
but even more violently.

To be honest, I don't remember very much from high school chem (which I failed, by the way).

Balinese Calendar, a.k.a. Pawukon Calendar is a unique calendar system in our folks on which there is only 30 weeks/210 Days in it.
