Really? Beforehand, I've always thought UK as part of the continent. Not physically connected, but considered within the region. I mean, Borneo is a big island. Taiwan is an island. Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia are made up of islands. Yet all of them are Asian countries.
At least post-brexit, though even before it was always a bit of an outlier. I kind of think of the EU instead of the continent when I hear 'europe'.
