about the dream I had just now. I visited the doctors with my brother who has MS. He checked us in and although the waiting room was already packed we were called to be seen separately fairly quickly. He was there obviously because of his MS. I was there because I had accidently sat on a pair of thin, almost point like scissors that had penetrated at my upper palm and exited at the top of my middle, finger nail side. I also had my leg taped up as I was finding it difficult to get around. For some reason the doctors office had a small audience section and I could see the surprise on the people watching when they saw the scissors sticking out of my hand and could hear them murmur between each other. the scissors had shifted through movement and had cut through the other side of the finger, the sank down lower into the finger just above the bottom of the nail leaving a gap right through from one side to the other. There was an assistant nurse in the room, red headed attractive woman who lift my hand to get a closer look at it only to let put a little surprised gasp as the scissors suddenly snapped off just below where the blade had entered my palm. Pulling from they she found she couldn't get any enough purchase to grab the blade. The doctor walks over and asks me to look away. I do and he puts the tip of his pen into the exit wound at the tip of my finger and pushes down on the blade. It forces the blade down enough so that he has enough to grab at the blade entering my palm and quickly pulls. I feel it exit my hand but it doesn't really hurt.
As he's telling me I'd need a tetanus shot, I explain I have difficult being mobile and it's frustrating as I like to run everywhere, so he asks me to lie down on the bed, rolls up the leg of my jogging pants around removes the strapping I had shoddily wrapped around my knee and ankle. He tells me that he can see the swelling, not too bad now as have not done much yet to compound the injury, but that he can see it must be painful. At that point I woke up
I have had these dreams for years now, about struggling to get about but this time was the first time it was associated with pain. In the past they have been me walking almost in slow motion, having to grab onto anything and physically pull myself along to get to my destination, other times I've been naked from the waist down or without shoes and a shirt when I was younger (school) but never has there been pain in the dream, just a physical struggle to get where I need to go. This marked the first time it hurt to get around
