I don't think Valve even acknowledges Epic as a noteworthy competitor whatsoever. They have done almost nothing as a direct response to the EGS.

From listening to quite a few Gaben interviews from the past 10 years, and interviews from former Valve staff describing Gaben, his vision seems pretty straightforward. Grow the PC market. Battling over a few percentage points in market share is not something I see him concerning himself with. He's probably glad if the EGS giveaways draw more young people (with less income and therefore more enticed by these offers) to PC gaming.

What gives Gabe credibility in my eyes is that his goals like making Linux a viable gaming platform (which he has talked about for over a decade at this point) and moving away from proprietary platforms like consoles and Windows are not only nice for the consumer, but good for Valve's business as well. He's never presented himself as this selfless savior. Even during the development of the original Half-Life he became famous for telling his employees "make the players happy, and the money will work itself out eventually".

He's also the one who said “The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting antipiracy technology to work. It’s by giving those people a service that’s better than what they’re receiving from the pirates.” In 2011. When Steam was still picking up speed. Point is, he's always had these long-term visions and it's worked out for him so far, so I don't see Valve suddenly becoming tangled up in these petty squabbles as long as he's at the helm. Tried to buy switch joycons to use with my pc.
Returned them today.

I would have to get a bluetooth dongle, as my pc doesn't support it natively, but there are some that are "emitters only" for audio, so there was a chance I buy something wrong.
I would have to get something to charge the joycons, but some things may only be compatible with unofficial products, or they charging method change (USB-C, USB or other).
And in the end, it would cost over 100 euros.

Even if I compromised and considered it as "2 gamepads", it would still be over 50 euros per pad, nope, wasn't possible at all.

I wonder if Nintendo one day will think of pc users, and release a pack for pc users, that happen to be even more convenient for nintendo console users, but at least work out of the box for pc.

TLDR

A clique of 'hyper aware' writers worked to oust the Deck Nine studios most successful and accomplished director and then when he was gone production stalled out. Due to their paranoia they began a game of werewolf trying to find the crypto neo-nazi traitor hiding amongst the remaining group. They then became obsessed with reading into each other's nano-aggressions and indirect unintentional racisms to find the traitor.

They called one part of the game the neo-nazi room where they believed the neo-nazi hiding in their team had hidden ultra cryptic dog-whistles that you could only find if you believed there was a neo-nazi secretly on the team. They basically stalled the project because doing anything that could be remotely seen as offensive to any lived experience would draw accusations of being the neo-nazi.

Upper management had to bring the original director back to lead the team and sideline all the 'aware' individuals to avoid legal action from square enix due to breach of contract and not meeting project deadlines.

They never found the secret crypto-nazi hiding their group. They are writing the article now due to mass layoffs as the company is going broke.

MH1 was neat. MH3 is the set which is replacing totem armor and tribal enchantments with "umbra" armor and "kindred" enchantments because of "cultural sensitivity."

What do Ashes to Ashes, Assassinate, Breath Your Last, Dark Banishing, Dismember, Doom Blade, Eyeblight's Ending, Go for the Throat, Grasp of Darkness, Hero's Downfall, Murder, Rend Flesh, Smother, Swat, Terror, Tragic Slip, Unmake, Victim of Night and Weakness have in common? They are all mono-black spot removal.

I still say BYL would be perfect if it was named Rape To Death, though.

I am just glad that I sold all my cards. I checked the price list today and basically everything modern has crashed hard.

Tarmogoyf fell from a peak of $200 USD now down to $15 USD.

They crushed the value of modern cards to farm expected value of new sets.

Each modern horizons release is designed to break the meta and encourage people to spend thousands on new decks. Its like chucking a bucket of chum into the water for the whales.

I was interested in commander when it was a cheap format, now its a bit nuts.

Nintendo isn't hoarding any games, they are far to incompetent for that. Even their own classic consoles uses roms downloaded from the internet because they didn't have their own backups. The stupid legal actions are just typical Japanese business, but don't fool yourself into believing Nintendo knows what they are doing. They lose source code and backups for their old titles all the time.
