i enjoy the old games before hand holding the player through ever little thing was the norm, before QoL meant "upgrade" and before a sudden difficulty spike introducing a new mechanic that had nothing similar before it came about (looking at you, modded games and mmos)

(alright, that new mechanic part was a bit vague, but imagine having never fought a boss before in a game and there's no indication how to hurt it, but the others in your team somehow know what to do because they saw someone else do it, literally meaning the first team to ever do it right was just guessing or a play tester showing others. in my case i also find that every strat players came up with and uploaded to YT were also patched out basically meaning the intended way was not he way players were using for a while BECAUSE there was nothing before it to indicate that method)

There exists, try playing AliceSoft Games like Rance and Toushin Toushi.
There are Chests that contains Girls inside there 😆
They even have the Ancestors of Gacha Fragments Feature in most mobage now, with chests containing Fragment of a Girl's Picture Puzzle that when completed summon the Girl depicted on the Picture

I merely stated the truth in my comment. The reason Halo multiplayer was popular was because it's designed as a party game with competitive elements added in. I got a taste of it in "eldewrito" the modded version of Halo Online. There's option for competitive players in Ranked Matches and also players who just wants to have fun with wacky game modes in Custom Games. It was 343 who ruined the multiplayer experience with too heavy focus on competitive/e-sports elements and monetization and putting too much restrictions on customizations. 100% fact. The dumb response from a married Latino American with an ugly son from New York was unwarranted. Arenas shooters aren't dead and Halo's fall from grace shouldn't be attributed solely to rise of Battle Royale genre.

How can one considers the reveal that Flood in Halo being corrupted Precursors as "anti-climatic"? The Precursors were not "sore losers". They didn't lose a football match. They were nearly wiped out of existence in a war.

recently having played super mario and the seven stars, watching goblin slayer season 2 i kinda want to get back into playing various random rpgs i find on the shelf/digital store display just to see what take it has on the genre, or even get back to doing DnD with the boys doing the fun mechanics that worked from other rpgs in our little adventure.

It would be much more fun if you could have Scoob as the commander of your dog deck. Or Shaggy, instead of that diversity hire they replaced him with. Seeing as how it makes Scooby snacks and uses them to buff your dogs, you could literally just rename that card to Shaggy. I bet its playtest name was Shaggy.
