Oh, this is why AAA games are being screwed over, to win awards they have to comply to overly woke rules just to qualify for awards.
They are no longer judging games on being actually good. The Bafta guidelines are insane.
The content needs to be woke, the dev team needs to be woke, you need woke advisors to prevent political incorrectness, then you have to encourage woke people to play the game.
Developing a good game is not even a criteria. This is why the journalism is so skewed, if it is woke it gets good reviews because 'game journalists' are not judging games based on gamer metrics but Twitter woke metrics.
Also idgaf about awards and neither should they, beyond sales figures which should be the reward companies are looking for in capitalism anyway.
AAA games are bad because of excessive paid DLC, "loot crates," and a "fix the bugs later" mentality that basically turns paying customers into beta testers for an unfinished game.
I'm not convinced a game as polished and finished as Chrono Trigger can even be made today, even with the greater resources available to these companies.

Rocket League is free, but i'll never play it. But maybe you will.
Nah. I play shooters, not football-racing car hybrids. Speaking of racing cars, last time I played a racing game was Dirt 3 on the now-defunct Games For Windows platform. Never finished it.

RX560 is inadequate for maintaining a stable 60fps at 1080p Very High Settings in Crysis 2 & 3. Heck even in Halo SPV3 & Halo 2 frames will dip all the way down to 20fps but not as frequent. Gotta get a better graphic card.

Didn't you downgrade and give your GPU to your brother?

Ya. That's how I ended up with the cheapo RX560. Still look forward to AMD's presentation on RDNA2 next month despite the midrange units will only launch in 1H 2021. I'm gonna see whether there's gonna be some good price cuts on Navi this coming 8.8 Sale.

…Or just turn the settings down somewhat

Finally starting MGS Phantom Pain, and it doesn't look as good graphically as I expected; it seems unpolished. Maybe it'll be ok once I find the hidden AA toggle? I don't think 2015 should look this old.

UT2004 is the last great Unreal game. Only because the love it's still getting. While extremely rare now, modders are still making custom maps and characters for the game. UT3 never got the same amount of attention as its predecessor.
The announcement that C̶r̶y̶s̶i̶s̶ ̶R̶e̶m̶a̶s̶t̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶r̶e̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶2̶1̶s̶t̶ ̶A̶u̶g̶u̶s̶t̶ was really sudden. Crytek however as of yet had not release any new screenshots or trailers showcasing the full graphic improvements for the PC. All we had to go by is a 8k wallpaper which was claimed to be an in-game screenshot, not pre-rendered.
Edit: The news sites are wrong. Actual release date is 18th Sept. It's just another teaser trailer that got released today.
