I remember the good old days where Capcom get tons of shit for introducing dlc costumes and on-disc dlc characters and the FGC were crying to boycot their games. Now most fighting games these days has either day 1 dlc characters or has already announced dlc characters before the game is even released and everyone goes:
[take my money]
Time sure has changed.
The best practice I've ever seen from capcom was with RE Revelations 2; begin with a low priced beta version as digital release only, do whatever the fuck they want with microtransactions and then publish the physical one fully complete. They gave you 2 clear choices back then, Street Fighter V was supposed to start like this till some moron had the brilliant idea to follow microsoft's example with their Killer Instinct; publish a full priced beta version both physical & digital and no one knows what's going to happen next.
