See if your emulator can run Super Mario RPG, best SNES rom I've played.
If it's anything like Paper Mario on the N64, then sure. Loved that one.

That's one of the reasons i don't like Fire Emblem, the dying units adds a depth to the game that very few have, but since the enemies units are so strong it becomes frustrating instead of challenging
I always just restarted the stage when someone died. No deaths isn't too much of a hardcore thing to do if you're a bit thoughtful.

have you played the Advance Wars games?
That first Wars game on GBA was my all time favourite GBA game. Ah, that series is so addictive if you're a chess nerd...

You NEVER played Super Mario RPG?! My god man, you don't know what you're missing... play it. NOW!!
I remember back in school, one of my friends wanted to trade me Final Fantasy 3 (which was FF6) and Chrono Trigger for my copy of SMRPG. I was close to pulling the trigger on that deal, but when I began to play SMRPG again, I decided not to make the trade. And I have no regrets about it at all.
I loved Advanced Wars. I started with 2 on the GBA when I saw the review of it on X-Play. I especially enjoyed Dual Strike on the DS. I also played Days of Ruin, but I really hated it. I was disappointed that they changed the art to be grittier and a more realistic style. However, the changes they made to the gameplay mechanics were what really hurt the game the most.

Is this coming from a Nintendo/Mario fan? Because I want to know if SMRPG has a strong enough story to entertain someone not into mushrooms.

Gameplay mechanics are quite fun but SMRPG doesn't really have that much story, more than SMB3 and Super Mario World if that counts for much.
As for Final Fantasies.
My favorites are V, VI, VII and IX. V was quite fun, VI had a great sound track though some of the grind mechanics bugged me. FFVII is probably my favorite, its the one that made me buy/borrow forever a PSONE.
I still have the memory card with my FF7 save on it and the disks, just no playstation one...

If you don't like the Super Mario Games you won't like this one, because it's a mario game.
However it was made by Squaresoft (back when the name still meant something in rpg's), the music never gets boring, the attack mechanics require for you to time your input commands while hitting, the graphics may look crude to todays standards but where incredible in their day, And I'm going to disagree with Esoteric, there's a strong story on the game not the usual "save the princess, oh no! She's in another castle"
Couldn't find a decent gameplay video without annoying people talking, but this one shows a little of the game.
I keep trying to like DOA5 but I can't do it no matter how much I play it. I'm as down as the next guy for some of the outfits and vato bayman in a white shirt chokin' fools out but that's it. I feel shades of Skullgirls when I play DOA and by that I mean a game I can enjoy visually but not actually enjoy playing.
That's a shame, I actually like the DOA series, so hearing that it's not that good is kind of a bummer.
And yeah, Skullgirls is kind of twitchy, but I don't hate playing it as much as I do Street Fighter IV.
Thinking about it, i don't remember beating that motherfucker, i remember rage quitting after the 10th time he got me with Dark star, did he drop a weapon for Geno?
Great, now I want to play again... To the emulator vault!

Did he drop a weapon for Geno? I don't recall. I know after you beat him, he gave you something called quartz or something like that. I think it allowed whoever to equip it to receive half damage on all attacks.
I remember it took me almost an hour to beat him after the 3rd or 4th try.

Googlus confirms that it's "quartz charm" it boosts attack and def by 50% and prevents instant death. i found the rom now i'm just looking for a decent emulator to use on the DS
'Saga' is key to the brand which our players associate with a King game
So in other words, King thinks the title The banner Saga will "confuse" gamers as the word Saga is in all of their game titles?
QUOTE
According to King, if it didn't oppose the trademark request for The Banner Saga, other developers would start forwarding their own copycat trademarks and games.
I don't think "real copycats" are going to be deterred by this case. Don't they usually just copy the gameplay entirely and maybe the interface as well then give it a different name? Like The Legend of Crouching Dragon and Blizzard's Hearthstone. Certainly the Banner Saga has no resemblance to Bubble Bitch Saga and King's every other games.
I finally finished the demo for Bravely Default. I'm looking forward to this one. FF3 remake graphics and inspired equip system along with FF5 class system and combination. With all the streamlining features (adjust encounter rate for free, turn off exp/money/jp if you want, optional autosave when entering world map or dungeon) it finally feels like they're getting rid of everything that bogged down JRPG experiences in the past.
