Apparently, Sony is giving "loyal" U.S. PSN customers $10 credit. I haven't gotten it yet. So I was wondering if anyone else from here got the credit yet.
Sorry to double post, but the Sony press conference starts at 6pm EST. If anyone is interested in watching the live stream, click the link at the bottom:
Edit Pt. 2: Looks like Sony trolled the gamer community hard tonight by not showing the system or even giving a price point. Just the controller and a rough date of when it'll be on sale (holiday 2013).
Oh well, E3 it is then...

As much as I appreciate Sony's intentions for the PS4, I don't think I'm going to buy one for a while. Still don't have a PS3 since they took out the backwards compatibility part of it. If I do buy one, though, I refuse to purchase anything for it first hand so I won't be supporting Sony for their shitty decisions on their console.
EDIT: Fixed some ambiguities.

I totally understand why someone would want a new console to be backwards compatible. But if you're wanting to be able to play those games in the future, why not just keep your old console?
Because TVs have a finite amount of inputs and I don't really feel like dismounting it when I want to play PS2 games instead of my SNES, SFC, Dreamcast, N64 or Wii, you dig?
I could always get a multiswitch, but then the power outlets become the bottleneck in that situation what with the Xbox 360, its battery charge station, the Wii, its battery charge station, the TV, Bluetooth headset charger, Surround System, PS2, SNES, Dreamcast, N64, Dreamcast, ionic filter, PSP charger... I've never been that keen on plugging a power strip into another power strip, y'know?
ADDENDUM: Plus, that bullshit about how [kotaku.com] no one buys a new console to play old games kind of soured me. I guess I've always had a qualm with companies thinking they know what consumers want to do with their products better than the consumers do based on bullshit numbers that they can't even back up with real proof.
Like... why not release a version that has the emotion engine chip and the GPU emulation and charge fifty bucks more in smaller quantities so the so-called "10 to 20%" of people that want that feature can still participate in using your product? Why be such a fucking flaccid chode about it?

Ah! I see! The reason most people who buy a PS3 is not buying PS2 games is 'cause they do not want PS2 games, not 'cause they can't use PS2 games on their PS3. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
I refuse to buy PS4 because the direction the next gen consoles are taking is in community- and social media-based play. Fuck multiplayer. If I wanted to play with assholes and then tweet about it, I'd go play sports and update my FB status to some inane one-liner about doing said activity.
Also, because fuck console games.

Everything's going to handhelds anyway. Televisions are struggling to not become obsolete. First the internet, now we've got handhelds with as nearly as much power as a console, and at a far better price.

I guess I don't mind being passively involved in some of this shit, but I absolutely abhor playing the actual game with knuckledraggers and chucklefucks and refuse to do so.
I'm sure they'll have an option to turn that social stuff off. If they don't, I believe that even I would be less inclined to adopt the next gen consoles.

ohai ME3. You want best ending? Go play multiplayer. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Sincerely even the possibility of no used market for PS4 games and all focus on "social" and multiplayer are no buy rigger for me, idem for other brands if they follow this same policy
I quickly got bored from listening to the official announcement, but this sounds like something you'd get from Sony:
Well...I want a PS4 now. How odd. Seriously though, letting me do video capture sounds wonderful, especially with my desire to do Let's Plays for the Youtube.
"Don't worry it's just gonna be a black box, BYEEE..." Best line EVA XD
And something irrelevant, I hate the Wii U control pad mostly for being as primary controller & even if you purchase a simple joystick you can't start the console without the fucking control pad >:[

So you can avoid being brought up on Retsupurae for doing this shit:
