QUOTE(tentacle-man61 @ Feb 5 2013, 05:05) Somebody needs to learn how to form coherent English sentences. It's still better than most machine translations I've seen.

I hate those traps: they sit there, and you can't see 'em without Libra active, which takes up your Clan Privilege.

QUOTE(Gakre @ Feb 4 2013, 21:29) Scarlet Blade seems like an MMO who offers little new besides tits. I guess whiny kids is gonna be a big problem early on, and not quite as big later.
I was interested until I saw the AeriaGames logo. (IMG:[ i655.photobucket.com] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu275/leonardo_ARG/seinfeld.gif)

I had completely forgotten why I quit playing Civilization IV: The Mafia inspired A.I. "I would like to make a purchase of some of your technology. What would you say 'bout a penny for that advanced technology? No? Do you got any better offer? Sorry. A more average market price just wouldn't be good for either of our businesses. You will have to accept my original offer. You know; accidents could happen to you or your business. Capiche? No? That's a shame. You may want to look out for accidents sometime in the near futu-... DIE MOTHERFUCKER! DIE!"
as well as: "You want to buy some of my technology? I don't think I can accept any lesser payment than the following: your shirt a blowjob your house your wife your first-born child 98% of your soul turned into a smoothie, served with strawberry flavour in a crystal glass and a 36 carat diamond straw for the smoothie.
Oh? You can't agree with those terms? I'm sorry. I hope our disagreement won't affect our current relationship."

The FFT AI is far smarter than I gave it credit for when I beat it when I was younger. They will zone you out and prioritize targets and just outright break or steal your gear when they feel it benefits them more than just hitting you. Too bad they never learn that Melee + Hamedo = fist to the face.

There might be a bright side to the "no used games" DRM or whatever that's inevitably going to be on the PS4 and Xbox720 - at least Gamestop will be out of business.

Hey, do you play that game with a wheel, or do you use mouse & keyboard? I was thinking of getting a wheel for the game, but I don't know which one I should buy.

Sure you will... you'll be a slave to the next gen systems like the rest of us eventually... the people who bitch and moan about this being a travesty to gaming (which it is), ALWAYS come back to it in the end. And you will to...

mmmm, nope. I actually have started to dislike video games a bit. At some point I stopped, realized that I have put in literally COUNTLESS hours on the PS2 ALONE and thought "Why?" Especially when, and I know this sounds stupid, something is just seemingly pointlessly hard. Half the time I end up just going "Fuck, I don't even LIKE the game, I just want the story" and youtube it. I'm glad I got a Vita, and I'm sure I'll have some fun times with it, but seriously it's more a multimedia device to me. I use it for music, videos, and the internet more than I do for gaming. The fact that I can play Persona is just like an "ooh! I have an hour to kill before class" and I never play on a higher difficulty than I need to. (In P4G's instance I'm playing on super easy mode which give me lots of rare hands which give out insane EXP and Yen values so I'm almost level 70 and am only about to rescue Naoto. Plus my Izanagi, despite having base tier skills, has stats that are BETTER than the base stats of most top tier fusions.) tl;dr Why can't video games be movies instead so I can just watch them, instead of solving stupid puzzles and crazy hard boss fights that do nothing but stroke my own ego for accomplishing something stupid? As opposed to something worth while, like getting a job.

Nah, I play with mouse and keyboard, but I'm planning to buy a wheel in future. Not sure which one though.

Incidentally I've only played PC and PS2 games for years, mostly PS2. I have only tried the PS3 a bit and it didn't call to me much. Sure if I had the money and time maybe I'd buy a PS3 (Or a PS4 when it comes) but it simply lacks importance anymore.

Perhaps I'll become a slave to some next gen gaming system in the future. That may be when the gaming systems got to offer something I'm actually interested in, which also doesn't have far better offers available on a PC.

I hate PC games, frankly controllers make things much more simple and make gameplay fluid. Whereas every single PC game I've ever played has had the necessary keys scattered EVERYWHERE across the keyboard, so instead of going "I need to use a potion" and pressing the potion key I end up going "oh, well fuck, that's uh, P. So, I need to take my hand off the mouse, and press P. Which means I'm not looking and clicking to attack any more, and I can't move from WASD, because they I'm not moving. Well fuck" Or, on a few occasions such as playing Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, I completely forgot what does what and ended up pressing the wrong key. I know a lot of people think that having limitless keys means you can have more functions, but limiting that number means that developers have to look at their game and pick what's important, then figure out how to streamline it so the gameplay is smooth.

I play much better on PCs, then again I'm a (Soon to be) Computing Technician :3

Oh, right! You can't hook a controller to a PC. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) For the games who spread their crucial game-play keys all over the keyboard: It's usually a poor game design in an action-oriented game. They're usually either experimenting or doesn't know how to map the actively used keys for a game. You usually shouldn't map a button as an action button when it's placed further to the right than the G-button. The exception may be when you're playing a game where you click with the mouse to move, and the button is just chosen for quicker access.

Plus there ARE some games that don't have controller support, and I'm not a game designer or any of that shit. So having me map key buttons to a controller would end up terrible. Plus (again) a lot of the "PC is better than console" stems from the fact that the mouse is more precise than an analog stick, using a controller negates that. I agree for the most part with everything else you said though.

Not if it requires you to constantly be connected to the Internet in order to play, and forces you to buy a monthly membership as well, in addition to you having absolutely no control of your own content, where you can get bricked completely just because some douchebag thousands of miles away decides to be an asshole. Also, I abhor the idea of putting the security of my persons and possessions in the hands of others. Face it, these companies are just butthurt that they lost against the "Law of First Sale" in court, and are trying to circumvent the rights of the people to be secure in their possessions using other underhanded and shady tactics. Clearly they don't realize that some series would never have become as popular as they have if it weren't for the used game industry, as I'm sure many games wouldn't get so much as a glance if people had to pay 60$ or more to try it out. Many gamers aren't from wealthy families, and don't have high disposable income, so they would be getting shut out of the market, which would make new consoles a privelege for the elite, and so sales would suffer as a result. It's all because of their false logic that QUOTE We're losing sales every time someone buys a game used or pirates it , which is false because of the fact that the people buying the game used are likely doing so because they were never going to pay full price to begin with, so you lost no sales. They also think they'll make more money by punishing these people when, again, that is nothing but greed speaking, and they think that QUOTE 4.8 Million units sold is bad; if we punish the someodd thousand who buy the game used, we'll TOTALLY sell millions more copies! , But in fact, they would actually be providing a driving force for hackers to break their insufficient security mechanisms and pirate the game over the Internet, which they would damn well deserve. What's next after forcing people to buy a game that has an activation code and forcing them to be connected to the Internet; forcing the consumer (People who paid good money for a product, Which by law they OWN), to go to designated locations in order to play the games they bought?
