That my last gaming console was the Sega Dreamcast, and did not regret ending on that note

I'm playing Grandia Xtreme, you can't say it has a decent plot but the battle system is pretty good, if you like the Grandia series. It can't beat the first installment in the series though.

Apparently there's a way to emulate the PS1 on PS2, some people don't get it, but this way you can load the games from HDD and you can overcome the Memory Card backwards compatiblity problem that Sony realased along with the PS2 since you can save your games in the HDD. Yays. Works for USB / Network / Internal HDD. I might try it tonight with my lovely Grandia 1. Source: [ psx-scene.com] HereThis post has been edited by ESeion: Dec 18 2012, 18:28

QUOTE(sureok0 @ Dec 17 2012, 08:07) I want to play some games but my PC is garbage.
That's what consoles are for: you don't need to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade your system just to play the latest games. Get the console, perhaps a couple accessories, and you're ready. I'm almost done with the Secret Missions (again); just a few more to go, and then I'se be free.

I'm dreadfully sick of these new MMOs with their microscopic, eye-straining UIs. Do they think everyone plays with their face 2" away from the monitor? That they have perfect vision or wear binoculars for glasses? Because I sure as hell don't. If there's one thing MMO developers need to copy from WoW that they haven't already, it's allowing UI mods. Letting us simply scale their game's awful default UI isn't cutting it.

Eh, I've been looking at the Xbox end of the year sales and their pretty decent. Though a lot of of them are for games that people should have got around to playing a long time ago. But as I've said , if you're getting a game like Bully for $10 it's a good deal. The fighting game sale is gonna be worthless to me though since I bought all of them at full price already.
Well, I can always gift my cousins with the beauty of 3rd strike and VF5:FS when those go on sale again. I find it kind of funny how often they put 3RDS on sale like they're begging people to please buy it. At this stage almost anyone that is or wanted to be into it got their chance and repeated sales aren't going to do much for it at this point in time.

It's not only PC games or MMOs with those problems. It's even worse when they force you to do pixel-hunting. Also hate it when they don't allow you to sort your inventory (A-Z, etc.), like Tales of Vesperia, where there are several hundred synthesis items, and you have to scroll down through the list to find out if you have a particular item or not. The same goes for Skyrim, where the storage management system was downgraded from Oblivion into placing Armor, weapons, sundries, potions, etc. into the same non-sortable, non-alphabetic pot. And don't even get me started on their removal of Talking as a free action.

As a developer if I as a player actively dodge playing your game because what I'm being asked to do bores me to tears or takes too much start time for me to be interested you have fucked up. Build up the hype or exposition as much as you want but there's a difference between building up player anticipation and just not knowing how to pace things properly.
DO NOT expect me as a thinking human being to go: "Well, this game gets better after 5+ hours of grinding or 10+ hours of poorly handled plot. This is worth the time investment, an entire evening of getting actual shit done or socializing would be a waste compared to this."

Games like these remind me why I hated the idea of online play when it first came out.

Boy, Steam has really impressed me recently with the prices they sell some of their games. I've been a life-long console gamer, starting from an Atari 2600, to having an Xbox 360 and a PS3. But now I'm starting to see the appeal of playing games on a PC. Currently, the only games I have on Steam are Bejeweled 3, Geometry Wars, Psychonauts, and Left 4 Dead 1 &2. All total spent for those games are a whopping $15.99!!
I may need to buy a dedicated desktop PC one day to play all these games with better graphics and stuff...

Oh yeah the deal's you can get on Steam is FUCKING insane. I got the WHOLE Valve Pack is was like shit 40 to 50 something games for only $50. The games if you was to just go to the store, (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) well you do the math. One game being about $60 time's 40 to 50 games. Yeah insane. When I get the money I'm gonna try and get Skyrim off steam. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's difficult to complaint 'bout high prices on Steam sometimes. Unless you live in Australia where most new titles still cost $90 due to dick publishers. The price/availability of so many sales/deals are still cheap 'nough to run us bankrupt on games we'll never have time to play.

So played Black Ops 2 campaign for a bit. So, out of the gate complaints -Why does everyone have an RPG ready to fuck you up if you so much as think about not sitting in cover. -I can't see shit, that glowing indictators and muzzle flares are cool for seeing people and shit but really. I'd rather see then have to rely on a damn lighting mechanic to see. Same issue with battlefield, be as "realistic" as you want but at the point where I must stare through dust clouds and squint to see it's just annoying. -Don't add token family members with back stories and act like I'll give a shit like a damn puppet. Oh no he pushed a woman out of bed, White Knight mode activated stab offender. Learn to write so I care, not rely on day 1 everyone agrees that's bad shit to make me give an imaginary fuck.

Online communities could be so much better if they were as closely moderated by the developers as some games.
