Well, I was at Comic-Con this weekend. I got to play a few titles that are due to come out later this year or next year.
Playstation All-Stars Battle RoyaleIt wasn't the same demo that's playable at my store, it was essentially the full game. All the characters were available in the PS3 version stands, as well as most stages. Evil Cole . . . is kind of a cheap bastard. Because people are still unfamiliar with the game, it's easy for anyone playing as him to simply spam projectile and build meter like it's their birthright. Ugh.
The game is really floaty, but quite fun with friends. I got to play as Sir Daniel Fortesque and Sweet Tooth. Sir Dan is odd, I need to get the hang of his moves. Sweet Tooth is a heavy character, so I'm terrible with him :[
The Vita version plays literally exactly like the PS3 version. They demonstrated how exact it is by having one of the machines have two Vitas and be part of a 4-player free-for-all through Remote Play. Good job, Bluepoint.
Devil May Cry (2013)Seriously? Garbage character design aside, the game is good. It's not amazing, but it's a very solid title. People who are crying about the new design and claim it's going to be the worst game ever just because of that need to grow the hell up and check this game out again. There's a demo coming sooner or later, so you guys can determine it when that's out.
ZombiUThey showcased the local multiplayer. One person is a survivor, using the [

Pro controller, and have to capture something or another, I don't remember. Meanwhile, the person using the Tablet/Gamepad basically takes the role of the zombie spawn AI in Left4Dead. Getting my hands on this mode, I'm even more excited for this launch title!
The Wonderful 101Oh God, this game is so awesome. It's as chock-full of awesome as I knew it would be! The game is so much fun, I can't even describe it. But, fun fact, I was the very first person at Comic-Con to fully complete the demo! Everyone else, time ran out on them. Hell yeah! I wish this was a launch title, can't wait!
Nintendo LandI got to play more of the attractions I didn't get to in the Wii U experience. Specifically;
-Luigi's Ghost Mansion: It's really fun how it works. 4 players are Mii characters with flashlights and have the catch the ghost. The ghost is controlled by the 5th player using the Tablet/Gamepad. Meanwhile, that ghost has to capture the players and make them faint! Characters can revive each-other, but it takes a good while, and the ghost wins if all 4 players are all down.
-Animal Crossing: Sweet Day: The 4 players have to go by trees and grab candy pieces that fall off of it. The more candy pieces they carry, they slower they run. They can drop candy in order to gain speed at anytime. Meanwhile, the Gamepad/Tablet player controls two cops and they have to capture 1 of the 4 players three times in order to win.
I managed to round up 4 of my friends to play these games, and I couldn't believe how much we were getting into these two games. It was something I haven't felt in literally years. It was a sense of fun and excitement that I have only experienced in local multiplayer games with this many people. This was when I realized how rare that is these days. Most companies don't even bother with split-screen anymore for their games. So much, when they do, they showcase it like it's a big deal (Twisted Metal for PS3 is a good example). It was something I don't think I experienced and enjoyed since 2005 with my Gamecube. I really can't wait until I get my Wii U on November 18th and round up a bunch of buddies to enjoy this with me!
