Lost Planet 2 is definitely better with another human player.

It's not dead, it's like Terri Schiavo, and they're itching to pull the plug.

It's not in a vegetable state. I personally hate being forced to play with other people when I play a game, and I also hate it when there's no local multiplayer (Like Dead Rising 2) and you're forced to pay for an account online and then you have to hope that they exist or aren't assholes. Yahtzee has the right idea about that; not liking to play multiplayer if the other players aren't within choking distance. Lost Planet 2 is an example of a game where beating it (on Extreme Mode) is impossible without AI or human help, as Episode 6-2's boss is a cheating bastard, with it's 3 VS vs. 1, and EM Lasers and ability to kill your nerfed PTX-140 with 2 rockets.

And that's one of the main reasons why I don't like this gaming generation: programmers forcing me to play their games the way they want.

Besides, MMO games can't be historically preserved like the other ones, because once the servers are permanently shut down, they become useless/unplayable. The same with the dlc, how many content is no longer available, and thus, lost forever?

I guess they're too busy making money hand over fist from fanboys to give a shit about quality control. Another developer that obviously doesn't bother bug testing is Obsidian (although ironically, New Vegas turned out to be less buggy somehow than Fallout 3).

Of course, the fans will say stuff like "oh, but they're charming bugs" or "it's just part of the fun." Yeah, having your game crash after you fall through the ground is loads of fun.

I actually had more problems with New Vegas than 3. New Vegas crashed on me a lot and there were occasions of bodies falling through the ground before I had a chance to loot them. FO3 I only remember the ingot area in The Pitt add-on crashing on me if I was in there for too long.

I thought it was already consensus that Jew Vegas had more problems? With the exception of the addons, I never experienced too serious of problems with 3. Of course, I wish I had known about the rewards Ingot guy gives you before I got all 100 Ingots (I entered and didn't leave until I had them all). That would have probably reduced my problem with the Gamma Shield Armor breaking on those Trogs (Frogs). Anyways, Jew Vegas had the problems with load times getting way too long if the cache wasn't cleared every few hours (especially as you progress through the game), and the thing where friendly NPCs would randomly start attacking your followers (mostly ED-E), and that bug where coming into contact with hostiles caused the game to crash; the fact that the last one was tied to my partners being present, only being resolved when I dismissed them and got them back was bullshit. It took 3 hours of trial and error, and I only figured it out when my brother checked the Internets. Seriously, it's as bad as the bug where the game kept crashing during the load screen when I tried to enter The Strip, unless I had the Old Cowboy Hat equipped. What was it about that hat that prevented the crash? Truly one of the great mysteries of the universe.

I guess YMMV; I remember having problems where it would freeze up in the classroom at the beginning of FO3.

It just boggles my mind how forgiving people are of those games' flaws. Alpha Protocol (by Obsidian) was even buggier). Of course, if those games were made by a Japanese developer you'd be hearing people cry bloody murder.

RPGs need to stop giving the best weapon/items in the game at the last boss or near the end of the final dungeon. I can't use that shit for more than 20 mins and if you hit for 99,999+ damage a swing it's hard to appreciate a final boss when they die like a bitch 2 turns in.

Oh, I don't forgive Bethesda for making buggy games and expecting us to suck up and deal. I'm by no means a fanboy.

What's worse is when you have the extremely difficult optional bosses that are harder than the final boss and you have to beat in order to get your best weapon.

Nah, wasn't lumping you in with that comment. I was just talking about gamers in general. And I agree, New Vegas is incredibly buggy. I guess I was judging it compared to other stuff that developer had done (I never even really got to start KOTOR 2 because I fell through things on three separate attempts and then it corrupted my save data).

Now to bitch about a Japanese game: Resident Evil 6 is way too dark even with the brightness settings cranked up.
