Civ V CTD'd and now my AV flagged it as a high-risk process and removed it from my computer, which requires a restart. And I gotta go fish the exe back out of the installer so I can play it. Awesome.

Here's something posted a couple of days ago:

[www.bitloaders.com] http://www.bitloaders.com/2012/08/17/pabic...er-controversy/

I hadn't heard about it until you brought it up... interesting stuff.

A lot of Kickstarters are full of shit or a scam when you think of it...

Well that certainly clears up alot. Man, you should've seen the shitstorm that brewed after this story got out. All the avgn haters came out of their troll caves wanting blood because they thought that Rolfe was fleecing his fans - which he wasn't.

That's cool. I don't have that much time logged on it but with how much I love Fourside, I'll get there soon enough.

I want to look into this now. It's funny I didn't hear about it, this is exactly the sort of thing people tend to talk about on the other site I frequent.

I don't get the hate for AVGN; I'm not a huge fan of when he focuses on being obscene for obscenity's sake, but I think most of his skits are great (I loved the horror movie parodies), and he's golden whenever he sits down a bit and starts discussing what's good and what's bad about the games (with or without swearing/getting worked up).

On a different topic, Nintendo Power ceased publication.

Yeah, If I'm not mistaken, NP is one of - if not, the last - videogame related publications that started out in the late 80's. It's a shame, but it was gonna happen anyway.

I don't have much history with the mag, but I was lucky enough to snag The Legend of Zelda: OOT & Master Quest Collector's Edition Gamecube game by getting a subscription to NP for a year. It was totally worth the subscription for that game. Other than that, I didn't really care much for the magazine...

It's cool dude, now we're even (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif).

Seriously though I think you're right - Nintendo Power's been going continuously since about 1998 if I remember correctly (they were "Nintendo Fun Club" before that). I think the last one left now is Gamepro - EGM is back, but they stopped publishing for a while. Gamefan's back too but it was dead for over 12 years. Hopefully NP will come back someday as well.

We got these $1 binders with free Nintendo Power subscriptions in them on clearance from Kaybee Toys back in the day, and ended up getting about 10 years of Nintendo Power as a result. Got the cool Players Guides that they offered in the early 90's as well, it was great. Like most magazines though they lost significance once the internet came around, and it's only gotten worse.

I also have that Collector's Edition Zelda game as well. I didn't subscribe though, my friend did. I'm taking care of his Gamecube while he's at basic training.

I've had it pre-ordered since I first heard about it. Probably won't get much sleep after it's release.

I don't know who I want to play first. They really made the characters much more unique from each other this time. And those guns! Those Guns!!! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

People on that Borderlands 2 hype?

I remember playing Borderlands but I didn't enjoy it all that much, but then again I was refusing to play online with anyone. Played in a couple groups but after that point just did everything solo so I didn't have as much fun with it as I might have. I am an item whore though so I did get happy as fuck scavenging for the best guns I could find.

There is just something euphoric about getting a gun that kicks more ass than the gun you just owned that kicked the ass of a better half of Pandora.

I remember when I got a gun called Shredder-Shredder. It was a machine gun with a high rate of fire and shot-gun like bullets. Each bullet fired five pellets(?). I also found a sniper rifle that did the same. Head shots did massive damage!

Borderlands sounds boring as shit.

Then again this is coming from a guy that's played World of Warcraft pretty constantly for almost 8 years.

So that probably makes my first comment seem worse.

That Christmas tree secret room in Borderlands... With that gun that is a nod to A Christmas Story. It was awesome finding that rifle!

It's definitely more fun with friends. Collecting stuff really gets me going also, even more than the Diablo games. It's really addictive!

Oh please, Ubisoft. Seriously, 95% piracy rate on the PC? Didn't you say that piracy was down due to your "successful" online DRM initiative - just a few months ago? Your CEO must have a Degree in LYING.
