Damn it! You beat me to it!
Yeah, If I'm not mistaken, NP is one of - if not, the last - videogame related publications that started out in the late 80's. It's a shame, but it was gonna happen anyway.
I don't have much history with the mag, but I was lucky enough to snag one the Legend of Zelda: OOT & Master Quest Gamecube game by getting a subscription to NP. Other than that, I didn't really care much for the magazine...
It's cool dude, now we're even (IMG:[

Seriously though I think you're right - Nintendo Power's been going continuously since about 1998 if I remember correctly (they were "Nintendo Fun Club" before that). I think the last one left now is Gamepro - EGM is back, but they stopped publishing for a while. Gamefan's back too but it was dead for over 12 years. Hopefully NP will come back someday as well.
We got these $1 binders with free Nintendo Power subscriptions in them on clearance from Kaybee Toys back in the day, and ended up getting about 10 years of Nintendo Power as a result. Got the cool Players Guides that they offered in the early 90's as well, it was great. Like most magazines though they lost significance once the internet came around, and it's only gotten worse.
