A boss in lollipop chainsaw was influenced by eight-foot piles of cocaine. That explains just about everything in one go......

QUOTE(radixius @ Jun 17 2012, 15:00) Don't get me wrong, I adore it, since it's so stupid fun.
I do hope you picked the female wizard. She's such an adorable cunt; you should hear some of her conversations with the followers, especially Lyndon who always tries to hit on her. I made a female monk and ran her through normal, but I probably won't be going back to her until much later.

Derp. The only male character I've made is a Barbarian named HODOR.

I made a male wizard too, because I want that Wizard class achievement to level two of them to 60, but I got bored of him at level 45 and left him as is. What do you think of these two ideas for the game?
1. Add something special that differentiates two characters of the same class. Since stat point distributions on level are done automatically and there's no putting points into skill builds, and you can respec for free at any time you want, there is no difference between one class and another of the same. You could add something like a special gender passive i.e. the male wizard gets an additional 10% damage reduction and the female wiz gets an additional 10% damage increase. Shit like that for all classes.
2. For every level 60 that you have, you get an account wide +10% exp gain. I mean seriously blizzard, unless we powerlevel and exploit bugs in your game, getting all 10 different characters to 60 is not only going to take a while, but also because of the aforementioned fact that two of the same class are identical, it gets really boring.

I wish Fixer was in Fallout 3, as well as jury-rigging, the ability to repair equipment to 100% (even without 100 Repair, where a higher repair skill just increases your effectiveness), people who can repair shit to 100%, and Raul (or someone like him, if allies had perks in Fallout3). Raul was the best ally in New Vegas because of his Maintenance Perk, and because he was a Mexican Ghoul.
Also, why the fuck did the designers think it would be a good idea/ good practice to allow you to repair a T-45d with the T-51b, but to not allow you to repair the T-51b with a T-45d? T-51b doesn't exactly fall out of the sky, unlike in New Vegas, and unlike in New Vegas, you can't do that which is outlined in the previous sentence/ you are fucked once your T-51b falls to 40 or less DR.

You could always pay a 100% repair NPC. You could even pickpocket that money back and voila. I personally went the light armor route in FO3 so I never really worried about repair bills and such.

Tara Strong saying "rad" a bunch in a Pinkie Pie tinged Twilight Sparkle voice? Gotta say, I melted a little.

Of how re-justified my grievances against Obsidian and Fallout: New Vegas feel after playing Fallout 3 for the first time in nearly 2 years. New Vegas added a lot of good things, but removed/damaged too much, and was buggy to an unacceptable level (unfinished games tend to be buggy). For one, the level-up system was busted, since they nuked your ability to distribute 23 Skill-points at level-up by 6 points per level (23 -> 17).
Another is the horrible Armor System. Why they thought direct subtraction was a good idea, especially when the armor is severely underpowered compared to the weapons (Anti-Materiel Rifle and a few other weapons have 100+ Atk., many have close to 100 Atk., while the strongest Armor I ever found (T-51b) only had an Damage-threshold (DT) of 25.) And the nerfed defensive-Perks only gave you an additional 3 DT (and Sub-Dermal armor gave you even less, at 2). Those, plus armor and helmet (T-51b), only raised my DT to about 40, when Legionnaires with Ballistic-Fists and NTR (lol, seewutIdidthar?) Veteran-Rangers with Anti-Materiel Rifles could do way too much damage.
Also, 90% of the time I tried to use explosives against enemies, they did not even effect them! Dynamite seemed to need to blow-up right on top of targets in order to damage them, and even then they rarely did anything (Super-realistic, amiriteguize?)
Overall, Fallout 3 is better, simply because a lot more time and work went into it, whereas Fallout: New Vegas had great potential, but blew it with it's rushed release date. I hate the idea of "OOOoohh! Wii haz to get product out before cHristmas, regardless of finished status or not." The idea that companies absolutely have to release it into the holiday glut is stupid, since that is exactly what killed "Beyond Good and Evil".

I wonder if the Fallout MMO is going to be something stupid like a subscription based game.

Where did you hear that? I remember reading earlier in the year that Bethesda took the rights away from Interplay, thus cancelling the project.

That could very much be true and I was reading old information. Not that it matters, it would have been fucking terrible.

Yeah it probably would be terrible... I mean imagine the wasteland littered with thousands and thousands of players running around. It certainly wouldn't feel like a wasteland anymore and the feeling of a vast expanse of uninhabited and rough terrain that is the norm of the Fallout games would be destroyed. Unless they made the world incredibly vast and made numerous servers with limited capacities like a few hundred per game.
Either way, if it ever saw the light of day it would be Bethesda releasing it and I don't think they would make a good MMO.

So, thank God they're working on a TES one, right?

I really wish those of us who beat Inferno before patch 1.0.3 were given a Feat of Strength for doing so. The few feats of strength that are in the game are retarded and don't require any skill at all to obtain. They require luck (if you were selected to play the beta) money and luck (to get the staff required to enter ponyland recipe to drop from a boss and then the money to make it) and luck (for generating the secret dungeon in Act I with Jay Wilson). Those aren't feats of strength, they're mindless RNG occurrences which simply require you to play a lot or be incredibly lucky. I fell out of love with TES with Oblivion, so it matters not to me.

Last I heard, it was still stuck in litigation limbo.

I want to get home and play the new patch of Diablo III. My roommate tells me he incurred a 35k repair bill dying a few times to a rare mob and the difficulty doesn't seem to have gone down. If that seems to be true to me then i'm probably going to put the game down until the next big patch. I already beat all of inferno anyways and made some money on the real money auction house so I can't really complain about getting my money's worth anymore.
