PS1 version? Haha, I was pretty close to that myself in january. Put in a little over 80 hours before I finally beat the boss. So mad that I didn't get that Ultima thing though.

If you level up too much you can find some unwinnable random battles, so watch out.

QUOTE(radixius @ Jun 12 2012, 17:10) *

I don't know what your problems are, but they are still making pretty decent games. Perhaps it's that the loudest consumers have become jaded hipsters who liked Blizzard before they were cool?

You say that because you are nowhere near the end game content, where it used to be rewarding to spend all day killing mobs (like in D2 where you could dump hundreds of hours into farming those skulls and runewords and steadily improve your character's stats despite the level cap) but suddenly became nerfed like a motherfucker to the point of not requiring skill, but gear from the auction house to advance. When the majority of players hit a huge wall due to not lack of skill but impossibly hard scenarios (that for most people with even good gear can only overcome with exploits) then something is seriously wrong with the system. I'm not even complaining for myself, as I am all 'done' with the game, basically just farming for better gear, but what there is left for me to do has become impossible. Act 4 bosses no longer drop rares, even with 5 nephalem valor stacks? What the fuck? Act 3 reduced the resplendent chest spawns to a fraction of what they used to be? Act 4 riddled with monsters who charge from outside the screen for massive damage, and if you somehow survive that one hit you are stunned and hit with a follow up power smash that WILL destroy any character? Penalties for playing in a group, thus discouraging even having fun with friends? Did you know that before release not one of the staff of the game was able to beat Inferno? And so with it being unbeatable by them, they doubled the difficulty (damage output and life of enemies) and called it a fucking day. Everything they promised the game would be was delivered upon release, but then completely nerfed soon after because Blizzard feared their economy would crumble. Of course there's going to be complaints and they are legitimate. And yes, before you suggest it, I already have voiced my complaints with the rest of them at the DIII forums.

I personally overcame the barrier as one of the few to do it legitimately, and I could potentially sit back and laugh at others now that I am over the hurdle, but the end game content is so broken that I have to take the side of the complainers. The public outcry forced Blizzard to promise huge changes in the near future.

As for positive news, I am hopeful that patch 1.0.3 will fix what they say they will fix, and I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they just made huge fuck ups with the launch of their game and they will try to make Act 3 and 4 in Inferno a viable option to play again, so I am still looking forward to the experience. These upcoming patch notes have relieved most of my worries: [us.battle.net] http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6262208/Pa...review-6_6_2012
The only complaint I have is that it already costs me over 10k to repair from the red, so I don't want to pay 40 to 60 k for repairs, but if they do manage to balance out the difficulty then I shouldn't be dying as much anymore and things will even out in the end, so we'll see how that turns out. Still, I'll take a bigger repair bill for actual beatable mobs now.

I've hit brick walls thanks to my shit Dex gear, but I just don't really care that much since I'm never using the Auction House, so it doesn't really matter.

Oh no! I'll get more play time out of my basically free game because I was playing WoW anyway and just paid my subscription for a year!

I get that there are legitimate complaints, but a lot of the stuff I've seen is pedantry and nitpicking.

Again, you complain about the complainers because you haven't experienced the end-game yet. I myself was in this position not too long ago as I was a little behind the power curve on progression unlocking but when I finally suffered through all of Inferno my perspective changed.

I get it, you don't like to hear people complain, but has it ever occurred to you that this is about more than just one player? If all you care about is you, that's fine, but if that's the case then it is pointless for us to argue.

We were arguing?

Apparently discussion and argument became synonyms while I wasn't looking, so I guess we were.

I honestly just have no sympathy for people that were expecting Diablo II 2: Still Diabloin', which is what a lot of this seems to be, at least from my perspective, which could be preemptive, but whatever. Just because I have not experienced everything (and that's the key word) about a subject does not make my point of view or opinion invalid.

Well I consider anything where two people disagree an argument, as you argue for your point to be understood. Maybe I just have a unique interpretation of the word in social context, but whatever.

That's the whole thing though, it was touted as DII but better. In a sense it was true at launch, but as people were gearing themselves up rather fast Blizzard tried to fix it but only managed to break their game. Or maybe it was Activision, who knows. But even if they hadn't made any promises about what the game would be, even if this was some random new entry into the world of gaming, it still wouldn't excuse how ridiculous the end of the game is broken. My complaints are not about superficial aspects of the game, but rather of the actual mechanics of the gameplay, particularly at the end of the game.

There are things you hear complaints about that are stupid, and I probably agree wholeheartedly with you on certain things like the immaturity of the 'oh mai gah, rainbows and ponies are so gay' crowd, and the stupidity of the general complaint that the game is a lot like WoW. I also agree that the loot rolls are just ridiculous (used to believe they were fine, but with so few rares being dropped anymore the few I do get are always garbage rolls now like a barbarian 2 hander with intel or a good damage wizard wand with strength, so I've changed my opinion of that), but they have addressed that for an upcoming patch. I don't like hearing about 'OMG I GOT HAXXORED' either, as I believe the majority of those idiots just got phished and not actually hacked, thus the situation becomes their own stupid fault. I also hate hearing people complain about the length of the game, the story, or the graphics. This is an action-oriented dungeon crawler (albeit, most locations aren't actually dungeons and are instead outdoor areas, but that is a superfluous distinction as the game concept remains the same) whereupon reaching max level you begin to farm for gear in order to improve your toon, and thus people should not have expected something like Skyrim (I actually heard a few people complaining in General today that they were totally disappointed that this wasn't open world and referenced The Elder scrolls). The only point of complaint that I give to that crowd is that Cain died such a pathetic death and he shouldn't have been killed, or at least if he was he should have gone out in an epic fashion as he is one of the most iconic characters of the series. Maybe he could have punched Diablo in the gonads while the hero did something necessary to save the world or something. Do we agree on some of these points?

Not sure if there was supposed to be sound in that, but I wasn't getting any.

Your score: 457,660. 990 on the speedometer, and 467 coins. Might have been more entertaining with sound.

I don't know what makes me more sad about CoD Black Ops 2:
The fact that the futuristic part is stylistically a blatant ripoff from Deus Ex Human revolution (Seriously, somebody just blended the two and you hardly notice a difference!)
...Or the fact that the target audience is either too imbecile, too retarded,or both to care.

Don't know, I started playing it and grinned my happy ass off the whole time. If you enjoy it I mean, why not? I still play Battle Fantasia and I should be ashamed of that but eh. Kind of reminds of playing Ar Tonelico and grinning like a jack ass at all that innuendo.

Also finally switched my team in KOF13 to Mr. Karate, Ash, and Claw Iori. Kind of happy with the change too, I like the way the team works. Mr. Karate hits like a grown ass man and then Ash is honestly a bad character but combos for days. Then back to Iori and hitting like a grown ass man. I might try Beni some more when I get the chance, there isn't much in 13 he can't do. Kind of like picking Shen, you really can't go wrong.

I guess, but I think the problem I have is no so much that people are complaining as this is the internet and everyone is human and therefore stupider than all fucking get out, but rather that they do so in such a way that makes it seem like the company came to their house personally and killed their cat.

@ran Don't get me wrong you can still enjoy Battle Fantasia but it takes some honest dedication. If you're a parry/guard impact monster from 3rd strike or Soul Calibur you'll really like the game. Parrying, heat up combos are fun and make the system a lot deeper.

The general art style and bad character design is what I can't take about the game though. It has bad story telling and BS story mode requirements worse than CT. If you're in it to fight you can find some cool stuff. Just don't expect likeable characters or good story telling. Urs BnBs are easy corner loops into super. Coyori you can get fancy and do fly combos, Ashley is fun and I'll be honest when I say fuck the rest of the cast.

Coyori is the only one I honestly like & Urs/Ashley I just enjoy because they are fun to play as for me.
