If you have a psp there are Monster Hunter Portable 3rd english patch games out there.
It's actually what got me back into Monster Hunter after a year and a half.

I don't mind playing Japanese games. Actually, I mostly play original versions because I'm always worried about ending up with one of those godawful translations.

The mere concept behind assassins creed 3 already has me more interested than the whole boogaloo around AC2 & Co.
The only thing that has me worried is that it already wants to come out this year. WAY too short a prodution time to end well...

Ah. Then I'm glad I live in America for this instance. I don't have to pay, but if I lived in Japan I'd have to pay to play MH3 online. And the translation I played for MHP3 was actually pretty damn good. Although not everything was translated as it was a fan translation.

Thought about entering other games in my state's Road to Evo event at the end of the month. Entering UMVC3 and SSF4:AE. Seeing as I'm not playing with the intent to win I might enter 3RDS:OE and HDR.

Ya know, get the full experience while I can. The pre-party at the local bar is going to be GDLK though.

And the translation I played for MHP3 was actually pretty damn good.

That's a rare thing. Gotta give 'em translators some credit.

Also, the European releases of Disgaea, Final Fantasy 7 and Breath of Fire 3 came to mind for some reason. Man, those were some godawful translations.
And that one release of Disgaea had the worst voice acting ever to boot. North American voices were pretty decent - even better than the Japanese ones, which is extremely rare from what I've seen - or rather heard - so far.

I guess that must be an European thing. It's true that the North American version of The World Ends With You had an almost perfect translation, except they went a bit crazy here and there, such as...

That's what I was told the last time I brought up the topic. (And the wiki seems to be updated with that shit now, too.)

The translator must either have been from Germany or was trying to toss an overly used meme. Possibly both.

In any case, 777 Tech Futoshi doesn't say anything close to this in the original version. He tells you that you have to be more "sticky" about stuff, if I remember correctly. Which is most likely a pun/reference I didn't get. My closest guess being, of course, that you shouldn't give up so easily and "stick to it" when you ask things.

The related verb itself also means "to persevere", but it is said in such a way either there's a pun implied or the devs made a typo.

ADDENDUM : Yeah, that's useless shit nobody cares about, but whatever.

It's been a long time since I let that game confuse me. The last thing I remember from the game was losing my companions, then dying too easily in combat.
