NeverDead called and said, "Are you serious? Of course they aren't trying anymore, they published me after all."

I dunno, I enjoyed it after the first couple of failures. For the most part, I found the hardest part to be the very beginning, and most of the difficulty my friends and I kept experiencing was our own fault. Not a good idea to use high-recoil weapons on such a thin platform, y'know? Not without readjusting after every shot, anyway.

That's one of those things that are in the manual.

I only read manuals when I'm building something or when I'm troubleshooting my car. I also read manuals to RPGs, because its good to know the mechanics of the leveling system and the combat system, but shooters, action games, stealth games, horror survival, and other types I generally just play until I got it all down.

I usually take time to read the manual before playing anything these days. These aren't Sega Genesis games where things are pretty much explained by pressing the buttons randomly when you start the game (Although anyone who's played Phantasy Star probably looked to see what the fuck spells like Foi, Ryuka or Sak were supposed to do.). Hell, I needed to read Skyrim's manual just to figure out that shitty HUD compass. I noticed there's plenty of shit they neglect to mention in game if you don't read them.

That is true, and I did have to reference the manual for certain things throughout the game, like to how to hold up people and how to interrogate people. I bet intros would take too long and suck if they tried cramming all the game mechanics down your throat in the first 30 minutes of a game.

Jesus Christ, the 'Tales of' US fanbase is retarded. Totally unnecessary for me to point out that a fanbase is retarded, but I feel like doing so for emphasis.
So Xillia is a bad game with 'crappy mechanics' because you can't infinite bosses to death anymore? It's bad because now you have ways of OTGing, picking enemies up off the ground after a knockdown? That makes a bad game, as opposed to enemies having superarmor or breaking out of moves with no warning whatsoever? I'm glad I've never bothered to interact with them; it seems to me like they see what they want to see. :/

I wish they'd stop bring over their shit. Especially the goddamn Naruto games.

I don't care about Naruto one way or the other, besides the slight annoyance I think most people have when something popular is brought up so often... But I gotta admit, even though I don't care about them and don't play them, the Ultimate Ninja-additional-suffixes games look fairly cool and from watching people play them at conventions, etc, they've got some depth to them. So I don't mind them.

The actual tutorial quest to get you used to the mechanics, but has no bearing whatsoever on the story and is handled from the Main Menu as a completely independent function of the game, or the prologue chapter which makes you wanna rip your hair out as you fight that dragon?

The hardest part for me was running from the fucking dragon fire and I usually died at the gate with only one soldier left. It got a lot easier after the prologue though. Then came the enhanced edition which dumbed down the prologue and it actually made it bearable.
Also, the first Witcher had the hardest boss of the game in chapter 1. That fucking devil hound was insane. The rest of the game after chapter one was lulz. It's like they only want the hardcore to play their games because the sane will put them down in frustration.
