It does that with level. It's REALLY, really, extremely easy to get when less than 10% of your character's overall level and absolutely hopeless when near 90%. At least for me it is...

QUOTE(Golden Sun @ May 15 2011, 23:24) Something ppl should realize: Mage power stayed around the same. Conquest had over 100% fire edb before 5.3, and with the 150% buff to edb phase, he would have over 150% fire edb, making up for the ~50% loss in ratings. Mages just have to invest more in equip rather than ap. This is a way to even the playing field for players who do not have pre-nerf phase. Some ppl are pissed b/c they (I am including myself here) have pre-nerf phase and brought it for a high price.
Um, no. QUOTE(hu318443 @ May 16 2011, 00:18) Excuse me,
Does the proficiency gain rate been decreased?
Because after I finished my daily Arena, I found that my elemental proficiency increased less than before.
As your proficiencies get closer to your level, your gains decrease.

I should mention that above conquest's level, you'll probably be doing more damage than pre-patch.
Don't forget the 100 fire EDB also included the cloth+staff proficiency bonus, which has been removed. The ratings nerf cut my elec+fire damage by ~25%. Apparently phase drops more often now, so potentially I might be able to get 1 element back to what it was at before. Still have to find/bid ludicrous amounts for them though. Seems proficiency gear is on the way out in the far-off future as well. Maybe Fox gear is the way to go. On the flip side, I have an extra 50 AP invested in useless resistances that I can re-invest into cold+wind spells and EXP/SP tanks. And my elemental build is no longer constrained by non-resettable aura choices. Hmm.

QUOTE(marcho @ May 16 2011, 02:00) I'd assume it halves the interference of the piece it appears on. Yeh. QUOTE(Grahf @ May 16 2011, 02:24) This is probably a stupid question, but still, since the difference is massive, I was wondering if the heavy armor set bonus is applied to the final total after all the burden is added together, or if it's applied to each piece of armor individually? How much sense would it make if it subtracted 30 burden from *each* piece at level 300? Heavy would eventually have negative weight. QUOTE(hu318443 @ May 16 2011, 09:18) Does the proficiency gain rate been decreased? Ask Snowflake if she secretly screwed with the RNG again. Just don't expect an honest answer. She's a devious one.

"Mages just have to invest more in equip rather than ap." We already invest in equipment. The problem is the upgrade treadmill that is phase gear. Although my heavy armor set I'm building will probably do me the same way by winter, haha. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Well it's not like there isn't HP/EXP tanks and depreciative spells that help warriors as much as mages. Also, warriors get heavy armor. I think I got lucky on that 12% holy damage phase piece but now I'm needing a second one like that just to do the same damage as before with my AP. It wouldn't be so bad if I had those ability points back to toss into EXP tanks. And I just reset it a day or 2 before the update. I'll go reset it again... Have the custom monsters received an adjustment to EXP with their new abilities? If not then I think they should, they were adjusted for their extra strength over standard monsters, and they have gained more (killing blow) strength.

I just realized that elixir drops got indirectly nerfed when Healer was removed. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Since I was used as the example here, I'd like to clarify that this post is totally wrong. Thanks.

I am very upset by new way of healing. It not convenient, expensive and prodigal. Now I should care not only of healing in battle, but also about where to take superfluous potions (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) All other changes almost don't excite me.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ May 15 2011, 10:05) -- Cure now restores a fixed amount of health, depending on Elemental Bonus/Proficiency. (That is, the random factor was removed.)
Confused. AFAICT it's using Curative prof and base HP. Where does Elemental come into it?

Perhaps EDB is a catch all bonus for all magical effects?

It would be nice if EDB was converted into MDM.

Actually, yes, it is. Even though that makes absolutely no sense.
