Today I experienced a strange problem that is preventing me from accessing the Hentaiverse.
I was playing through a 30 Level Itemworld run when I met the Puzzlemaster. I solved the puzzle/question today, and the next round of combat was supposed to begin, however the monsters were spawned but did not appear on screen. I Believed it was a browser error on my side and the page had simply failed to load properly so I refreshed the page.

And that is where the story ends. No matter how I try to regain access to Hentaiverse it just simply loads, and loads, and loads. But the page is never displayed. I am using Google chrome, but I have tried accessing the HV using Opera and Internet Explorer since and the problem persists.

I have tried browsing eHentai, waiting for the message "Your persona is in battle" but even when it does appear, I still cannot access the HV.

I have solved a Puzzlemaster Puzzle before, with no problems and this was my 2nd question today so I'm not sure what went wrong.

Not sure if anyone else has had a similar problem but if you have, could you let me know the solution.

So it is always refreshing but not finishing? If that's your problem I always killed the page then waited a minute before refreshing it. I have had a few problems with chrome while playing but they were easier to fix than say firefox. I hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a try but it's still frozen/refreshing/ignoring me.
I'm hoping Tenboro can boot me out of the fight my character seems to be stuck in. I figure that might fix the problem.

Notice that the enemy stats have generated but their are no enemies on the right side of the screen for me to attack, nor can I press a number key to attack as the page has frozen up at this point.
The page continually loads, but alas it is only loading purgatory.

I should rename this topic sub header to Curse of Red_Piotrus instead.

Have you tried using the Flee skill to leave the battle?

You know this may seem obvious but I don't see you say otherwise:
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Log out of e-hentai, delete related cache and cookies, log in again, profit ????

Unfortunately non of the commands work, attempting anything will cause windows to make the beep sound FX much in the same way you would receive the sound if you click on an application that isn't responding.
The webpage refuses to acknowledge any actions you attempt to perform.
I believe the problem is a temporary one in that if Tenboro made my character perform an action, it may then unfreeze on my client side allowing me to flee/continue.

You are correct in that I didn't state this in my original post, which I should have. I have tried both the methods you suggested but to know avail. Which is both odd and interesting, as it would appear everything in the HV is server side. I suppose that makes sense but it means I'm completely reliant on the server admin to resolve the issue for me and as far as I know the only server admin is Tenboro. I PM'd him after being stuck for around 3hrs but he hasn't responded. At the time of writing I requested help yesterday and I'm still waiting for a response.

I apologize in advance if you see me randomly hijacking other threads to attempt to get Tenboro's attention but I would have imagined logging out (and back in) would have resolved the issue and since it hasn't I'm just wating for his help.

Unrelated but interesting: if you are in combat during dawn of a new day, it appears you will not receive the dawn of a new day if you remain in combat perpetually for 24hrs.

Don't hijack other threads. He gets a ton of PM's every day, so it just takes him a while to get through them all.

After Tenboro removed me from the frozen battle state yesterday, once again today I am frozen.
Item world seems to be the culprit for me or so it would seem, as that is where I froze yet again.



If anyone has any suggestions on how to avoid this in future, please let me know.

You'll notice this time I have finished a round in item world, but the next round of combat will not load.

Is it possible that there's a modal dialog window open in your browser, but it's behind the window so you can't see it? The "error sound FX" you described makes it sound like that might be the problem. Force-quitting your browser and restarting it would that fix that particular problem.

Have you tried logging into HV using a different browser? Ut looks like you normally use Chrome, so try it in Firefox (or even IE, though it won't work well).

Just a FYI for anyone who may encounter this issue (although it is rare).

Your options are:

Use Opera Browser: Hentaiverse looks like shit, but you will never freeze or encounter any problems with playing the game. You will have a lot of visual errors however and some things will be hard to see but Opera is open source so you can always improve the experience yourself.

Use the back button: This one is tricker, since the page itself normally locks up. However if you can scroll back a page or two, you can use the flee command which will remove you from the Hentaiverse.

PM Tenboro: He is always busy, so you may have to wait a day or two for a response, but he can reset your battle state which will free you. Only PM him once though, he is very busy.

Wait 3 days: The TTL (time to live) seems to be set at 36hrs, after which time your battle state will automatically reset.

Not many people have run into this issue, infact the forum search reveals only 2 people have suffered this issue but hopefully the above solutions will help you if it happens to you.

i noticed the address bar on your browser for the "frozen" screenshot was not from a battle/IW but from the character settings page. when HV freezes try killing the browser and manually typing in "http://hentaiverse.org/?s=Battle&ss=ba". that is the address for checking the current battle (when you click on battle but aren't in one).

you can also try using the number keys 1-0 to melee one of the monsters and see if the round counter/dialog is moving

alternately push to page's javascript using a script debugger add-on hte command "battle.commit_target(1)" which is the same as above (attack monster 1)

as i dont use GC and have never had this happen to me on FF i cant really give you any tested work a rounds.
