AFAIK the better idea is to use DW with MH ethereal club of slaughter and OH rapier.

The OC skill for DW should work better against legends than two-handed.

Don't have either... Only Ethereals I have are a Longsword, an Axe, a Dagger and a truckload of Staves. So I can't use that technique yet. Any other suggestions?

I managed EoD just now using an ethereal katana with a couple potions to spare... almost ran out of spirit though, so unless you want to frantically cast Soul Harvest like I did, it would probably be a good idea to bring a Godly Spirit Potion as backup.

I'm in an all-Shadowdancer setup, and I had IA SV/Haste/Protection/SS. I didn't cast any deprecating spells, just used Shatter Strike as often as I could to clear the regular mobs and so that the stun proc would prevent the girls from blasting me. I relied on SS to save me when the girls did blast me. I probably would have been much safer with my mace, but I wanted to try something else. I have to try DW next to see how well that works.

1H + Power Armor (of slaughter) seems pretty darn interesting for non-dragon legendary arena... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

Currently still using DW though; i.e. the braindead way: cast buff (it would be more braindead if I have IA2..), hit, spirit stance, hit, repeat ... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)


EDIT:: Since this is the complain thread, I might as well do that just for the sake of doing it.

Now with the HP boost, hardly anything die in 1 hit (I might have to try bleed some day...), combined that with the fact that you have to hit each mob one by one, it take a lot more turns just to clear out these critter... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I guess ethereal weapons are the only solution.. With mana cost above 120% and evade lowered by more than 10%, it's just not possible to beat otherwise.

I use Spark of Life instead of Spirit Shield to stay alive, which keeps my Spirit Points always high but my mana drains much faster.... gah, maybe waiting for 0.6.5/0.6.6 is the only real solution. Oh yeah, when I said mace, I meant an ethereal like this one (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You mentioned that you have an ethereal longsword though... have you tried that one? Unless it's drastically underleveled, it should work just as well as my katana.

That's one cool mace. o.o And yeah, my Ethereal Longsword is horribly weak, even for it's level. It deals less than 1/3 of the damage my Scythe does. >_> It's not even worth selling, that's why I'm still keeping it. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I guess all that's left to do is offer all my legendary/god trophies for 2H Weapons and hope for Superior Ethereal something... which in turn will diminish any hopes I had for upgrading my Shade armor set.

Yeah... but with the Mace I used, it took so long that I had to use Spark Of Life at least once per round. You can imagine how soon I ran out of mana. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) Eventually I died as Konata spirit-smashed me just as her stun wore off.

I've been sniping primaries off bazaar when I can as well; just think of the difference 8c would have made.
