I don't get good equipments from playing high-difficulty arenas.
(I get 1 legendary and 1 magnificient drop form normal EOD, while I get only 1 ex phase and 1 ex ebony staff of destruction from hell)
The credits reward isn't convincing.
I can play less arenas because I need 3-4 casts to clear a turn.
I use up more potions, but I gain less.
I can gain more experience from a x25 GF run than a x6/x8 run, using the same amount of time(and may get better equipments than the difficulty I'm playing!)

Thought a lot, and I don't have any reason to persist my current playing style.

Challenge is good, but challenge without any reward is bad.
This patch gives no inducement to play in high-difficulty, and make high-difficulty playstyle even more demanding.

Sorry Tenb, your intention may be correct, but the way you try to solve it is simply wrong.

(P.S. It's not like I am lazy. I have tried to maintain my playstyle for 2 weeks, and I found my motivation to play HV deteriorating.)

Thanks for the advice. There're two reasons why I'm playing as a mage
1. I like playing as a mage. For almost every game I would first try to play as a mage, no matter how hard it can be. That's the main reason why I first choose to play in the mage way in HV.

2. My internet connection gives me a 700ms delay per movement.

I do play as a melee sparingly.
I'm trying to gain some prof. in weapons, though I have to spend most of the time playing in difficult arenas.
I hope I can get more free time by changing my gameplan this time around.

Playing as melee can at least help you with gathering mana pots, because melee spend much less mana than mages.

I have considered that. It's not like I can't gather mana pots with maging though.

The main problem is that playing in higher difficulty become even less rewarding after the patch.

why shut down stamina regeneration during battle play in Arena

I hate how you don't get healed after clearing Arena challenges. After all, how am I supposed to grind up my level if I expend almost all of my Magicka battling a couple of Mobs on I Wanna Be the Guy mode?

The only reason I'm still playing after this latest patch is because I hate myself. I mean really hate myself. I could be playing something else in my game backlog, but instead I'm sticking my dick in a garbage disposal.

So i decided to do a T&T run, first one since the patch and monster HP spike, took like 2-3x the time to complete it compared to pre-patch.

On that subject, before the patch I was able to finish End of Days on Normal with maybe one Potion remaining, now I can't even reach round 80... (ran out of potions on round 79 last night)

I don't know if this was deliberate or Tenboro just didn't test it before releasing it, but one would think I should be able to clear a level 220 arena on level 235.. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
