Before this patch it was easy to do Crysfest . that why Tenboro increases monster HP . So people automatically stop playing crystfest

He could simply boost monster's HP only in Crysfest, or even remove this battle mode from the game altogether if that was his intention.

If increased challenges is what Tenb intent to do and the current method is the how he do it, then it's a terrible way to archive this goal. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

The current game give no sense (or the illusion) of improvement as you character gain more level since the monster have additional boost which negates the usual small stats bonus the character gain when level up. So if you don't want to increase the amount of time need to clear arenas, you ended up playing the same difficulty instead of 'climbing' the difficulty level as your character become more powerful.

The current way would be appropriate if people are complains something like 'IWBTH are too easy' or 'IWBTH give too much exp, reduced it, please!' (I'm not making this up, people actually used to say this when IWBTH was first implemented! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) ) ... This wasn't the case for quite sometime now. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

Yea there was already monster level cap and PL cap scaling with the player's level, why add an HP scale? Normal mode is now hard more for anyone over level 200 in terms of difficulty.

Decreasing players' leveling speed CAN be a reason.

Remember, there's no level cap in HV, and weapons scale with your level.
That can be a problem to limit players' potential.

I don't like this change, but IF there's a reason, I won't object.

(IMO HP scale counters the effect of upgrading your equipments.)

And I think we high levels where actually too weak. Even before HP Buff.
Back then when EDB Bug balanced the game it was much better (for mages). When you got a good piece of equipment you got notable stronger and could climb to a higher difficulty setting. Now no matter what you do you still suck.

Also i think leveling was made too easy. Custom Mobs should have never increased our EXP. And if it should have only worked for your monsters!
Why not get rid of this and go back to Pre Custom EXP gains and also normal monster HPs. It would make combat much faster without easy modo level ups.

Crysfest was supposed to be easy, and should be made so again. Monsters already require obscene amounts of crystals to level them beyond ~PL600, and the only way to reliably obtain so many is to play yourself. It is very unsatisfying and unfulfilling to have a multiplier introduced and then not be able to make use of it because the monster were made 3x stronger on the only grind-worth difficulty.



People keep demanding to know why monster HP was increased so dramatically on lower difficulties, yet there is no answer. The only reasonable solution I can come up with (other than typical Tenboro dickishness) is that it pertains to a future release that he doesn't want to discuss yet. If you consider the change in context with things he's said in the past about the future of the monster lab, it's possible that he is just actively testing new features and (most) monsters will go back to normal when it's implemented. More or less.

If things go as I suspect, there will be a lot of writhing in the near future by people that spent tons of chaos tokens creating an army of monsters and just complaining in general by those that have very few to begin with (but still upgrade monsters.)

It can be. But another reasons seems more likely IMO; like making people poorer for teh lulz (I can't think of any other reason why he would do this...), for example.

Decreasing exp gain would be much more effective if Tenb just cut the amount of exp gain. Like what Ichy said:

Such countermeasure are not necessary or is it a good thing to do at the moment. People aren't exactly that powerful anymore and the difficulty level setting still have plenty of room to scale for more powerful gear that's the result of the forge.

To get the most out of Crysfets you need the crystal perks (1750 hath) That is still something not a lot of people have done. And to do them fast and to go deep you need to be a strong mage.

We have gone from near endless grindfest rounds on Hard using tier 1 element spells to now where you can clear normal casting 1 tier 3-4 spell. OMG its Normal now, If I want to take the time to cast 2-3 spells a round I'll play o a harder setting. I play on normal-hard so I can finish what I'm doing as fast as I can then move on to something else.

We have Spelunker so we can do the same item more often in a day & IW were changed so we can do more of them in a day. But we get fucked with the amount of stamina it costs, the time it takes with higher monsters HP on normal and shorter rounds. Some may like fewer rounds but I would rather play the where the # of rounds = the level of the item. More rounds = better drops, and the way it use to be I could clear 350-400 rounds on BT in my Exquisite Mace caster 1 tier one spell and then a tier 3. Just caster 1 tier 3 didn't kill everything all the time. Is that too easy? NO, it took good gear, high level and the mana costs are high.

One of my biggest problems with most of the changes is after you get a high level, you have max Magic proficiency, max spell damage, use to have +spell damage per AP spent (not element resistance) and good gear. Then on top of all that you cast a spell that costs 90 mana per shot and you cant fucking kill shit on normal.

And about exp. At one time you had to do something to level up, now if you just look at the monsters you get a million exp. Who needs high level AL or Stars or Exp Hath peaks or play 5000 rounds a day when all you need to do is make an IWBTH game on great stamina.

Oh and Auras use to great. Getting an aura point every 10 levels or one with each level of gold stars. The damage was nice but now with all auras at level 5 it still sucks.

Maybe after spending 10 million credits on materials or years to get your monsters to bring you stuff, you can then upgrade a few things (if you can find something worth it) After all that, will you be able to kill shit as fast as we use to? I don't think so.

Not difficult considering he already has maybe 90% of the required crystals prior to this patch. I don't know the exact numbers since he thinks that just by telling me, Ichy, his arch nemesis would somehow be able to mentally extract that information from me, so I'm being kept in the dark. I'm pretty sure he has millions of crystals and is close to reaching his goal whatever that may be. This patch is only a hindrance at best considering he's already farmed a fuckton before it. I better stop here before he accuses me of saying anything else that is considered 'confidential.'
