Holy fuck, they have that bullshit even at your's already?
The german television is being spawned by similar stupid shows that basically teach children to become spoiled, detestable, dumb-as-a-whore fucklings that tear a hole in your and everybody ele's pocket and end up working in a factory.
I don't want to live ont his planet anymore(Well, I knew that I don't want that already three years ago, but by now it ascended into a meme (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)).

Wait you still actually watch television? I haven't watched tv for like 2 years now. Every channel is just so full of bullshit that it's fucking poisoning my brain. And destroying my nerves. And making me suicidally depressed. And lowering my IQ even though that's impossible. O yeah... it's that bad.
Hmm... yknow, I wish I had Japanese satellite tv.

I really get tired of people casting off TV as if the entire medium is ruined. It's not. There is plenty of decent stuff to watch, and a few really good things as well.
I realize the landscape's not exactly great. I mean, even Science Channel would usually rather play marathons of Punkin Chunkin than Dark Matters, Through The Wormhole or Prophets of Science Fiction. AMC has a lot of good original series, but their standards for movies have dropped dramatically. Network TV is generally not worth it. Discovery at least still has Mythbusters (assuming that cannonball thing doesn't get them cancelled) and Curiosity, but they're so flooded with crap lately it's pretty disturbing.
So yeah, TV has a few nice gems buried under piles of crap. I could say the exact same about movies, music, books and the Internet though.
Eh, Dark Matters is sorta like 1000 Ways to Die (which is awful purely for being on SPIKE) except about strange science stuff. Its interesting, but its more fluff than substance. Its worth watching for John Noble, though.

Yeah, I know. It's more pseudoscience, crummy acting and old wive's tales than anything else, but it's all fun stuff to think about.
Par example: One of our state-run TV channels has a very nice weekly science show. It's called "Nano", Doesn't exactly delve deep (My sister could watch and understand everything... She's nine and, let's say, not the brightest star in the sky) but heck, It's better than all the other bullshit and some people might even learn something useful.

I guess that varies between individuals. Because I really, really don't like tv. And perhaps between countries as well. Really, Belgian tv is a load of bull.

I enjoy watching the news on Mexican channels. I remember during 9/11 the American newscasters would cut the scenes before the people hit the ground and exploded into gooey bits. On Mexican television they showed the whole tapes uncensored and uncut. More gruesome than anything I've seen in Iraq. Hell, I even fucked with dead bodies afterward to get some sick laughs, but the shit at ground zero was downright horrifying. I seriously think people who watched from the ground level as the bodies hit the floor experienced waaaay more trauma than I did, and that is pretty sad.
Still don't watch television though, and when I do its because I'm visiting my mother and her tv is always on. And its always on the news. And she always asks me about some event or another of which I have no clue about. ALWAYS. She doesn't learn. I actually think I have much more knowledge of what is going on politically within Mexico than what is going on in the U.S.

I download these, after I select them based on Internet reviews. No need for TV for that.

That's why I select my sources of Internet news as well, to get it the way I like it.

You're lucky. My mother's TV is always on some tearful thousand-episodes long story about some average family's life, and it's all she can talk about. And it's always on as well, and I can't stand commercials too, so I turn it off when I can or leave the room quickly.
Actually I'm a lot like Dlaglacz... internet > tv, because you can select what you wanna watch. If you watch tv, you gotta be lucky or time it right. And also, since most tv channels are meant to be enjoyable for any random dumbass, there's usually not much interesting to see either. If you download stuff from the internet you can choose exactly what suits your interest and watch it whenever the hell you feel like.
(plus there are no annoying ad breaks :P)
