Genuinely one of the more intriguing projects I've ever witnessed. Often comedic, at times poignant, exceptionally experimental, frenetic and chaotic with a strangely cerebral, reflective tinge layered throughout. Interactive in a manner that'd made it a surefire pariah of a show if not nigh impossible had it not been self-hosted. Despite many factors conspiring to close the project down, and several near brushes with early cancellation - it ran 42 days to a spectacular, and fitting, finish.
It feels as though, once again, MDE has captured "lightning in a bottle" - although my small summary here can't hope to do Fishtank justice. There are many angles to analyze the project from.
"Gold Bar Kai". Clearly this episode is a parody of Karate Kid. The classic trilogy. Not the one starred by Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. Speaking of ballets and tutus, I've yet finish encoding Barbie in the Pink Shoes.
Reminded me of a Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends fanart where in this AU, Frankie Foster is autistic (or mentally ill) and the events throughout the series is a actually imagined in her head. Dark. Of course, that's not gonna happen in Go Away Unicorn because that would piss the author of the book the show is adapted from.
Turns out previous reportings by journalist about Ed Skrein's role in Rebel Moon is wrong. His character is actually General Atticus Noble, not Regent Balisarius.
After human remains were found in the mountains where Julian Sands went missing while hiking earlier in the year, they've been positively identified as his. Aw, one of my favorite actors from back in the day.
I especially liked him in the Warlock movies, Boxing Helena, Arachnophobia and whatever movies he showed his dick and ass in. I especially loved his voice and English accent. They're still investigating how he died but he's gone. RIP, Julian.
Just found out there's going to be a new season for Futurama, to air on Hulu end of next month. Couldn't recall the last time I watched that series. Was it Season 5?
1. For a moment I was convinced Chelsea is a sympathetic character, based on her backstory and facial expressions. Then came the plot twist. But hey, those YouTubers did demand an irredeemable villain.
2. I feel there's a missed opportunity here. For the character Gordon, a sea captain and monster hunter, no one had thought of parodying the voice of Captain Davey Jones played by Bill Nighy in Pirates of the Caribbean. The guy even had a pet crab named Davey. Instead, Will Forte gave a performance that is reminiscent of Patchy the Pirate from SpongeBob SquarePants.
3. Not sure why I thought Chelsea was going to sing in the movie. Maybe it's due to her flamboyant movements in the trailer. Regardless, the movie isn't a musical.
4. It may be a coincidence or maybe the filmakers had taken some inspirations from past films (other than The Little Mermaid): Man of Steel (2013), BvS (2016) and Godzilla (1998).
