Too bad the 2017/18 design got roasted by the internet. I kinda dig it. Haters see Smurfs, I see anime-sque influence. Haters said ugly, I say kawaii. I can only hope this reincarnation of Strawberry Shortcake would make a return in some form one day (e.g. a one-off TV movie).
Julian Sands is missing after hiking in the mountains. He disappeared on January 13 so I fear there's little chance he's still alive. Why in the world would he be in the mountains when we were getting all that bad weather here in CA? Very dangerous.
I liked his movies from the 1980s thru the early 1990s when he was younger, namely the Warlock movies, Arachnophobia and Boxing Helena. He made other lesser known movies where he was naked and showed his dick and ass. I hadn't seen much of his later stuff as he got older and aged terribly but I always loved his accent. His voice was smoother than Alan Rickman's.
He was Anne Rice's first choice to play Lestat but the role went to Tom Cruise due to his box office draw. Julian Sands would've made an awesome Lestat.
After watching ep. 3 & 4 of Velma, I do hope the story will pick up the pace in subsequent episodes. More questions are being asked with new clues leading to dead-ends:
- Does the current murder spree meant to frame Velma? The first two victims were found in Velma's school locker and outside her house after all. However, in the latest episode the third victim appears to be found (off-screen) nowhere near Velma's location. - Does the current murder spree tie in to the disappearance of Velma's mom? Velma's dad insisted his wife didn't disappear but simply left the family. Was it the truth or a lie? - Also, Velma's mother was last seen at the Jones house. Does the Jones really have a connection to the woman's disappearance? If so, it is the same with the current murder mystery as well? - By the end of Episode 3, it's implied there is a secret connection between Norville's mom and a mental asylum. Norville began questioning his father about this but the mystery wasn't addressed at all in the next episode. - The mystery of Daphne's birth parents has begun to take prominence in the series' plot but will it somehow impact the current murder mystery in a significant or meaningful way? Could the character dubbed "The Thief" be Daphne's biological father, since he appears to be of East Asian descent as well?
I've finally pushed myself to watch Army of the Dead on Netflix. This marks the 4th time I watch a zombie movie:
1. Shaun of the Dead - I only watched it because it stars Simon Pegg & Nick Frost. 2. A movie whose name I forgot - I only watch it because the cast members includes members of boy bands Backstreet Boys & Nysnc. 3. Malaysian movies Zombi Kampung Pisang (translation: Zombies of Banana Village) and its sequel Zombi Kilang Biskut (translation: Zombies from the Biscuit Factory). The first was more comedy than horror but the second became less comedic and leaned towards action and horror by incorporating the zombie apocalypse trope.

Whew, someone who actually enjoys watching that turd.
After watching Pinecone and Pony, I wondered whether the Pendleton Ward was hired to design the characters. Turns out the art style is actually book-accurate.
Maybe some time after its theateical release, some would upload the remux of the first movie. If not, after the second movie goes to DVD & Blu-ray. Fingers crossed.

This really sound like garbage. It's like if in Pokemon you could see blood, injuries, pus and corpses (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) Waaaaaay too serious and complicated (and maybe scary) for a Scooby-Doo verse.
The Netflix documentary Inside the Mind of a Cat suggests the actions of a pope from the middle ages contributed to the Black Plague. By decreeing the decimation of cats throughout Europe, there's nothing to stop the plague-carrying rats from spreading the disease to humans. 200 million deaths all thanks to one man.
I imagine had Christian and Islam religious leaders all over the world joined the anti-vaxxers crowd early on, COVID-19 would have been more successful.

In a way, Velma fulfilled a past wish of mine: to have the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie revert to its original concept (dark tone, featuring drugs and explicit adult jokes).
up next: wishing Pokemon Apokelypse is real.

DreamWork' Where's Wally is basically the UK dub of 2019 series Where's Waldo from the same company and it turns out that the UK voice actors is credited as well. The credits for the UK voice cast was added at the very end of the credit roll. Which is kinda lazy. I mean, they replaced "Waldo" with "Wally" in the theme song and also the logo but somehow can't be bothered to edit out the original US voice cast credits in order to replace it with the UK credits.
You have bears and mountain lions there, too, right? We did in Colorado.
Yes, but the bears are hibernating this time of year. Mountain lions pose the biggest threat in winter if he was injured and one came across him. They said there was evidence of avalanches so he might've gotten caught up in one.
I looked up the Mt Baldy wildlife where he had been hiking.
QUOTE
Until winter cloaks the area in snow, elk and deer are commonly seen. Beavers, mountain lions, coyotes, bobcats, and black bears live here with a variety of smaller mammals.
Coyotes would get him, too. We have those nasty things here in the residential areas, they live in the nearby canyons. It's rare to see one but they can come out at night and roam around. One killed my aunt's cat years ago.
Anyway, I watched the movie Gothic (1986) last night that stars Gabriel Byrne, Julian Sands (with thicc ass scene) and Natasha Richardson. I haven't seen that one in ages. It's weird and not very good but they were all so young in it.

Been watching old reruns of That Girl the past few months on one of the retro TV stations. I never realized how beautiful Marlo Thomas was back then. She had such nice skin and her makeup was always perfect. She had shiny healthy hair although that flip 'do was kinda silly. Such a fashion plate, too, wearing the type of clothes I'd imagine you would see on magazine covers back then.
I've also been watching Hogan's Heroes. LMAO at Shultz. He was really funny with his facial expressions. There's a lot of trivia about that show I was reading about.
In other documentaries, usually live actors are employed along with below-average to decent quality CGI and filmed on location when it comes to recreating witnesses' encounters with UFOs aka UAPs. In Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified however it is 100% CGI, which I guess is a lot cheaper than hiring real people. I'm just put off by its horrendous quality. It looked like the scenes were created using a very outdated version of some 3D animation software (I was thinking Poser when it was still owned by MetaCreations).
