Not sure what's the story is going to be about. But I'm sensing romance between fire and water will also be part of it.

I interprete "Chapter 2" of Creature Cases as meaning Season 2.

MDE is frequently compared to Tim & Eric, but I personally - beyond the editing style - see far more similarities to WKUK. Although the philosophical underpinnings of MDE and its creators - especially its controversial swansong World Peace - seem very different to WKUK, some of the envelope-pushing, irreverence, and absurdity intermixed with sharp social commentary are reminiscent. Had MDE aired earlier, or WKUK later, I can see them "switching places" to a certain degree. WKUK will always hold a special place in my heart, however.

According to the internet, "Beta" means Son in Hindi. So Deepa is... a boy? No, wait. Deepa is a girl's name. Was there a mistake in the script & subtitles?

Update: I rewatched Deepa and Anoop S1. Deepa is definitely a girl.

It's neat that the Romanian / Română word for butterfly „Fluture” is very structurally and tonally similar to the English verb for what butterflies do ("flutter")!

Turner Classic Movies showed a documentary called The Automat which focused on the rise and decline of automats. I've always been fascinated with those from watching old movies and wish they would bring them back. You put money in a slot, got your food, sat down and didn't have to be bothered by waitstaff. Sort of like a cross between vending machines and a restaurant. They said the food was good quality and affordable.

Afterward, they aired the Doris Day-Cary Grant movie That Touch of Mink (1962) which revolves around an automat setting in full color. I've seen that movie before but experiencing the documentary/movie combo was awesome.

The movie Interview with the Vampire (1994) was on today and I totally watched it. It was the genuine film with hot af Brad Pitt as Louis when he was young with his long sexy hair. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Even Tom Cruise was tolerable as Lestat. If you remember, he wasn't liked in that role at first but I welcomed it now. That's nothing compared to the miscasting they're doing to characters these days.

That fake as shit Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire television series with the black Louis and Claudia is so godawful. I tried watching it with an open mind but couldn't bear five minutes of it. They should've never put Anne Rice's name on that garbage. How could they when they didn't even respect her characters? Louis was white and owned a plantation with slaves. But anyway, Brad Pitt back in those days...pure hotness. Now it made me want to watch Legends of the Fall.

Interrupting Chicken - another TV series adapted from a book. Not as funny and memorable as Archibald's Next Big Thing (both feature chickens as protagonists), but good enough of an entertainment for me.

This just doesn't work. Moomin should speak with a heavy Finnish accent. Anything else is just plain wrong.

I've watched Disenchanted last night. There was s slight feeling of disappointment. I was hoping Giselle's transformation into a wicked stepmother is being driven by her desire to preserve her fairy tale life wish and the way she treated Morgan is due to the latter resisting the new life. There was a potential to put Giselle in a morally grey position, to make her decide which option was best for who. But it's a Disney production, so they chose magical curse route. On another note, Amy Adams' performance as Giselle was really great. The character switching personalities back and forth bore similarities to William Dafore's Green Goblin from Spider-Man (2002).

Turner Classic Movies has been showing homo stuff lately and I watched Boys Don't Cry (1999). I've known about this movie and the RL story for a long time and finally saw it. Good acting but it was disturbing. They liked her as a male but hated her as a female. One thing I noted was Chloë Sevigny seemed more like a dude than Hilary Swank.

Then TCM aired Brokeback Mountain (2005) and I hurriedly texted my cousin to watch it and she forced her straight male friend to watch it after he complained that he didn't want to. I'd seen it before but they hadn't. It's too bad many people will never see it due to its content because Heath Ledger did the finest acting I've ever seen him do. He should've won the Oscar for that role. He lost to Philip Seymour Hoffman as Capote. That's another one I'll need to watch.

Just realized half of the voice cast in Trash Truck is made up of the show creators' family members.

I watched Capote (2005) thinking it would be about his gay life but it was about him researching In Cold Blood. It was OK but boring. I never knew Truman Capote was friends with Harper Lee who is the author of To Kill a Mockingbird. Friends since childhood in fact. At least I learned something.

While watching The Action Pack Saves Christmas, I initially thought Phil Donut was secretly Santa Claus. Nah. Turns out they're just voiced by the same actor.

It's sad to see so many books left to rot away, many of them long out of print and having no equivalent digital archive or copy. I wish I could rescue more of them for preservation - or at least posterity, to enjoy while their pages and the text within still lasts, is legible.

There's going to be a fifth Indiana Jones movie next year. I wasn't expecting that.

Initially thought Cloudy with a Chance of Christmas might have something to do with Sony's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. But no. It's an just unrelated Christmas film. I'm disappointed.
