Tony was a one of those great pure hitters that you rarely see know a days. Also one of those few guys who stuck with their team through their entire career. Real class act guy too.
And the only other player I can think of that can be mentioned in the same breath as Ted Williams.
I'm watching the local news and it's so heartbreaking to see them reporting it. The footage of him playing back in the day brings back memories of when we'd go to baseball games all the time at the stadium before the ballpark was built.
And now today, everyone is leaving flowers at his statue near Petco Park in his memory.
