I went to Wikipedia and read about what happens in the story and I'm still not sure if I want to finish it. The author writes well but it drags on and it's so depressing.

Before that, I was reading Portrait of a Killer - Jack the Ripper: Case Closed by Patricia Cornwell and I was enjoying that and it didn't depress me at all. My aunt had double loaned it to me from my other aunt when she was visiting and when she left, I had to give it back so she could return it and I didn't even get halfway through. I'll have to buy a used copy so I can finish it or maybe download the audiobook. I've never listened to an audiobook before.

It made me feel that the world is an ugly place for a few days. I listened to audiobook though, maybe it makes a difference. It's hard not to agree with the main conclusion too, especially taking into account Patricia Cornwell's professional background before she became a successful author.

I totally agree, that was my favorite. He was the only one to be out in the wild for seven days and without any crew or support. If something went wrong he was fucked... supposedly. I think he had at least a radio on him.

Time to break out the shrimp gumbo just like last year. It;s good with blu cheese. I hope the fruit flies stay away from it this time.
