I was watching Criminal Minds the other day on A&E and there was this retarded couple going around killing everyone for the sexual thrill and eventually get surrounded by Hotch's team in a convenience store with a hostage making demands for a car and tickets to Aruba. Towards the end when the chick dies, the guy magically acquires an SUV inside the convenience store and drives it from the inside out of the building trying to escape. It's such a bad show, but Hotch is all dreamy and J.J.'s got pretty eyes and Prentiss has the boobs and the black guy is black a whole bunch.

Why do people limit them self when it comes to enjoyment? How come metalheads don't listen to opera, and hipsters don't listen to anything people have heard of?

Some people are close minded and/or know exactly what they'll enjoy and what they won't. I only listen to one or two genres of music, and I have tried other genres and never felt any inkling of joy or amusement. So I stick to what I like. And if you really explore just one genre, you'll notice there's more music then you can ever probably be able to have time to enjoy. Better to be a real enthusiast about one genre and know alot than being what most people are these days; casual, half-assed fans who don't know crap about the genre they're listening to, the greatest artists/production/music/songs in that genre, or the history of the genre. |

How come people let the music play when they're doing something else anyway? I tried that, and found that when I have something to do, the music just distracts and annoys me, and when I just listen to it, it's boring.

Yeah that's silly. A lot of people are close-minded or even subtly (or not so subtly) hostile to certain music styles. Because not everyone is like you? :P Personally I prefer silence when doing tasks that require concentration as well, but some people are just better at multitasking, I guess. |

It's like a hit or miss for me. Sometimes I just listen and get to work and other times I start saying the lyrics in my head and that distracts me >_> |
