Higher level players tend to die a lot less frequently than lower level players, so it would have to be an exponential scaling. Plus you've still have to address the massive imbalance between monster classes. I can't see it ever being workable unless you gave all monsters the same initial attributes.

There's another problem too, if I create a ultimate which is the most expensive monster, the rate of kills would be close (if not) 0.

Screw giants, I want a healer like yggdrasil! If we get some customizable magic skills for the monsters we might actually see that happening.

I don't think I can actually run into Eila yet :s

I probably won't trade hath because I'd like to save up a supply of about 1000 in case a new perk becomes available. I didn't have any hath when the crystal perks were added so I'd like to be ready if some other useful perk is added in the future.
