Chappie.
It was a good movie, with a very slick bit of futurism, coupled with a tight focus on using appropriate resources for the purposes they require. This is actually what I was hoping for when I saw the remake of Robocop, instead of what I got (please don't get me wrong - Robocop was enjoyable, but more a scare film about human stupidity than a wonderland of high technology).
I thought the plotting and story were very similar to District 9, but without the feeling of invasive "otherness" that permeated that story, or, for that matter, the feeling of inevitable body horror that underlay it. If those elements disturbed you, you should try Chappie. That said, some of the framing of the movie is very derivative of District 9, so bear in mind the films had the same director. The movie does have very gritty visuals, but I think that's mostly for contrast as far as circumstance, situation, and approaches of the characters.
Chappie bears the following warnings: pro-technology, slightly anti-military (if you think use of force doctrines are too much restriction, and that every single problem can be solved by heavy bombardment, you are the movie's villain), reasonable optimism, naivety repaid with trickery, and neon firearms.
