I watched Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2. And before that I watched the first one. I really did enjoy both of them

I went to go see Kingsman: The Secret Service on Monday. I'll admit that I went in with pretty low expectations-- I saw a trailer for it a whole ago (jeez, I don't even remember when I first saw the trailer) and I wasn't all that impressed. I was expecting something like an Alex Rider ripoff. Fortunately, what I got was nothing like the sort. It was more like a James Bond spoof, but not overly silly-- this was a movie that was aware that it was ridiculous, and took that fact in and of itself very seriously. What I'm trying to say is that this was kind of a dumb film, but just because it was dumb doesn't also mean it wasn't equal or greater amounts of awesome. I had a good time when I was sitting in my theater chair noshing on Milk Duds. The plot was amusing, the action scenes were fantastic, and there was humor enough to keep the whole thing running nicely alongside the drama without one or the other feeling like it was heaped on too heavily.

Should you go and watch Kingsman? Yeah, I think so. It's worth the price of a theater ticket. Go see it with friends, though. I can imagine that this is a movie that grows exponentially more fun the more friends you watch it with.

Yeah they were by Sony Animation.

I just came back from seeing the new Night at the Museum. It was okay. Not as good as the first two. Also a little bit sad.

The Tree of Life

I've seen it several times, and each time is just as good as the last.
Lubezki's cinematography is incredible in it.
One of my favorites.

Of Mice and Men (1939)

I never read the book or saw the movie before. I sat through the movie thinking what's so special about this? Oh...the ending. Wow.

Just watched Birdman - crazy mind-fuck of a film, although I'm not sure the one-shot style of filming worked out for them as more than just an impressive gimmick. What I did like about the one-shot style, is that it made it feel like the movie itself was a play, fitting with the content matter of the film.

Emotionally manipulative, well-written, and a fantastic performance by the actor playing the protagonist. It's always great when an actor can sustain a quasi-solo scene and keep you on the edge of your seat!

I see films everyday because I project them but the last film I really watched was Citizenfour which was incredible. To actually be a fly on the wall for one of the decade's most important conversations was really interesting.
