12 angry men, the BnW version
that film always struck me, even if it is - as far as i can glean - a romanticized account of courtroom proceedings/jury deliberation. it leaves a positive impression, as if by holding firm to one's principles - even in the face of universal disparagement - one can still gradually prevail through sound argument and sufficient humanization of the topic at-hand
it also stuck-out to me as an interesting commentary on divides - whether wealth/class, age, interests, origin/ethnicity (especially given the time period and country it was filmed in)
the jury was perhaps a miniature mock-up of the society at large it is set within...
