However, if folks think it'd be a good idea to move QB2 down a bit, so it's not butting up against the regular quickbar, I could do that.

Nah, it's good the way it is.
My only problem with it right now (apart from it not being on FF) is that it doesn't appear immediately.
Also, I too am having some trouble getting used to it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I have all of my supportive spells on the QB2, but sometimes I still go "magic->tactical" and then realize "fuck man, this shit is like RIGHT THERE, just fucking click it <_>"

Bubblegum + Flower Vase most likely.

BG+FV usually deals ~25-28k dmg. This was:
Bubble gum + flower vase + channeled + divine infusion.
IN YO FACE FSM BIAAAAAAAATCH

Nothing I can do about that, unfortunately. It's possible that it might appear a few fractions of a second faster if I were to integrate QB2 into STAT, so that they don't both have to load their own copies of JQuery and jQueryUI. But then you'd need to use STAT to use QB2, and I'd like to keep them separate.

I could also attempt to cut jQueryUI entirely... but it'd be a pretty daunting task, doing all the settings dialog setup myself. And it would definitely look scuzzier.

BTW, v0.2.0 is out, with Hotkeys. Enjoy.

Note to folks who would like a Firefox version of QB2:

I've tried to use various free hosting sites to host the CSS for QB2, but I have so far failed to find anywhere that works. Google Sites doesn't work for the same reason that it won't auto-install the addon in Chrome. Mediafire won't work because you can't hotlink directly to the file.

So, if you guys want a Firefox version, you can help that happen sooner (rather than never) by finding some way for me to host (and frequently/easily update) some CSS files somewhere on the web.

Fixed it, along with all the other panes in that area. Download the new version linked in the OP to get the fix.
Yeah, it took me a while to get used to it too. What I do now is I put my commonly cast supportive, curative, and deprecating magic into QB2, and my offensive damage magic in the regular quickbar. That lets me logically separate the function of both bars, making it easier to remember where to move my mouse for what I want to do.

However, if folks think it'd be a good idea to move QB2 down a bit, so it's not butting up against the regular quickbar, I could do that.

lol, my setup is the exact opposite, offensive into QB2 and supportive, curative, deprecating into QB1, but maybe your suggestion sounds better (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

well since we got the 2nd quickbar mow, might as well ask for a third one (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I was so gonna ask that, but thought I should wait at least like a week or somethin (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yes, we needs us a thrid one.
And perhaps a fourth one.

Fuck it, we need to have all spells available on quick bars.
That should be like 7 quick bars.

It wouldn't be particularly hard to do that... but do you really need more? I haven't found myself opening my spellbook more than once per arena clear since I started testing QB2. And only then because I tend to spam Cure right before the last boss dies to boost my Curative prof.

The thing is, for some things (like FSM) you need holy spells, for others you use your elem spells.
For other things you need dark/soul spells.

And you end up editing the settings ~twice a day at the very least.
Which is a pain in the ass.
Having multiple QB's and just switching between them would be a lot better.
Like, you can set up a number of different QB's and save the spell list on them and then once you enter a fight (or at any other point) you can go into the QB2 settings (the little button next to the STAT settings button) and pick one of the QB's to appear.
Not sure if I'm explaining this right (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) . You get it, right? Having multiple QB's that don't all show up under the original QB, but ones you can switch between and not have to change the spells on them every time.

One more thing! It probably only affects maybe 1% of users, but the UI button for QB2 will cover the inventory full icon from STAT.

Ohhhh, that makes perfect sense. I haven't found myself doing much more than FSM and arenas each day lately (I think I play a LOT slower than I should be able to, and just don't have time for any more), so I haven't found myself editing either quickbar much. But having multiple, selectable QB2 lists would be a nice feature. I'll keep that in mind.

This is similar to my goal to eventually have multiple battle stat sets. The two things you'll want to think about are the scheme for storing/retrieving the set data and how you want to switch between them.

It only appears when you actually hit the equipment limit. Most people shouldn't see it and it shouldn't be a problem when they migrate to the new script.

I'll be sure to send him a PM, thanks for the tip.

As for storage, it'll be easy. Right now I store all the chosen spells in a single array. I'll add a counter that determines which array to use, and change the basic array to an array of arrays, indexed by the counter. There will then be a radio button set that lets users choose which spell set to activate, and it'll be connected to the counter.

Lol you have no idea. The technical jargon for programming is extremely obscure, especially if you're talking about programming language grammars. When I look at code, I can tell what it's saying because it really is a "language", much like English or Japanese. But I can tell that anyone who doesn't comprehend the language would be almost as lost as I would when reading kanji. Especially if you're looking at some of the older languages, like PASCAL or, heaven forbid, Assembly. These days the newer languages are much closer to spoken English, which is nice since it makes debugging other people's code a lot easier.

In case anyone was wondering, extracting QB2's scripts and fudging with them so it can be installed on GM actually doesn't work. It'll install and look alright, but an error pops up about spell_tuple wonking out when you click one of the added spells in battle. The more you know.

Also, I happen to like Assembly. Looping and condition trees are a pain in the ass, but doing low-impact, straight-forward programming is great in ASM.

Hmm, that's odd. spell_tuple is the variable that stores the spell's ID and icon name. I can't really imagine why it would fuck up in GM.

As for Assembly, I'm not saying it's a bad language. I'm just saying that it's totally illegible unless you really know your stuff. Hell, I can't read assembly, at least not easily, because I've never needed to learn it.

Another little bug:
[img38.imageshack.us] http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/4605/iamerror.jpg
Whenever I haven't entered HV and try to look up equip links, I get the "log in to HV message"
Not sure why the button appears there, but doesn't when I have logged in...
Also, not sure how the fuck you could fix this (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
Though, not really a bother at all.
Just something I thought I should mention.

Yeah I could fix that pretty easily. Right now I think the settings button attaches to the <body> tag in all pages serves from hentaiverse.org. I could make it attach to the HV frame instead, meaning it wouldn't appear on that log in page. I'll fix that when I get home. Since I'll probably be releasing the Firefox version of QB2 tonight (Sonic was kind enough to donate some webspace to me), I'll add that fix into the next version release.
