The power of a monster is determined primarily by its type. No matter how much you spend on a humanoid they'll still die easily and won't do much damage, while other types are very powerful at low levels.

Kennel Vampiress is only level 146 and Revenant Druag is only 150, yet both of them cause me far more trouble than Eila who is level 428. I dread to think what would happen if the owners of Kennel Vampiress and Revenant Druag spent some serious crystals on upgrading them. They'd be invincible.

Personally I think all types of monsters should have the same initial attributes to make them more balanced. As things stand some types are overpowered while others are useless.

They're stronger already because of high attack/barrier ratings (probably), and they have 75% elec resistance, but if use fire instead, they'll die easily, and so long "been powerful"...

High level humanoids are actually making grinding much easier because they die easily but give big Exp bonuses. A round with Eila (4.28x Exp bonus) and Liselotte (3.48x Exp bonus) is worth about double what a round with regular monsters is worth, even though it generally takes about the same number of attacks to clear.

Um....Let's have some calculation.
1. Set a level that nobody has reached yet (lv.350)
2. Calculate the limit PL level for this level (350^1.2 - 151 = 978, rounded off to 1000)
3. Calculate how we can reach that power level (1000)
Summation from 3 to 46 should give 1078, so it means we need a monster which has raised 43 times of its primary status.

Conclusion: Should be possible given enough crystals (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Edit: How high can a monster's PL possibly be?

Tenboro has said that the maximum amount of primary status is 25, so it will go to 150 total status point.
Among the custom monsters now the one with lowest basic primary status total is undead with 34 total status point.
So there's another 116 points to add.
So we add up 3 to 119 to give 7137.
Probably we should add another 200 for those ER.
So the total should be about 7337.
Translate it back to character level should give about 1664.
So if we have enough crystals to make a monster, we can possibly make one that can only be faced at level 1664.

Okay, i am really in insomnia right now. Boring enough to calculate this.

I think the highest level player is 320, which means the monster would have to be above level 863 for nobody to encounter it. The crystal cost of upgrades gets pretty brutal at high levels so I doubt anyone will make a monster of that level for some time (if ever), by which time the highest level player will have increased further.


Edit: I must have started typing when Varst posted. Just to add that Eila's current primary attribute upgrades cost 9400 crystals for a 9 level increase. The price seems to be doubling so I suspect a 10 level increase will cost over 18000 and an 11 level increase will cost 32000. The crystals required to reach level 1000 would therefore be astronomical.

Humanoids can have 50% resistance to everything but dark. They can become a huge pain in the ass once you can make them a Boss or Mini Boss.

It would certainly make things interesting if we could equip our monsters. A few pieces of Fire-eater and Thrice-blessed gear would be just what my Undead needs...

BTW, the power level isn't based on the total number of points in all stats. The first point put into each stat increases it by 3, the second by 4 and so on.

I run into Ichy's customed mobs pretty regularly. It was not that overpowerful at this moment, but it always caught my attention because of its owner's level. I will try to get rid of that monster as fast as I can.
