I do not know why but on a new save file after i beat chapter 6 when its the docks cutscene it wont pass the now loading screen.
I guess i am gonna have to buy a damn new copy motherfucker.

My other saves are all right, I even started a new one and got up to that part and still it is busted.

Is not the game, it's your console which the laser got fucked-up by FFxiii's fault.
I had exactly the same experience from FFxiii & nobody believed me.
My laser got even worse in the future, so I had to buy a new PS3 console.

Reason? FFxiii needed install option, that's why!!!
Other guys had this experience...

I am gonna borrow my friends copy to see. I know his works fine since i made a new save and got past that part on his copy. I do have a 280 GB Slim and all the ps3 reports has been on a FAT. If it is the disk tho and if it did break my ps3 i am gonna murder the guy who sold me it.
