Why do people devote so much time to HV when they could be playing a video game that has pictures and sound? If I was an actual gamer, I would think HV was primitive. Must be the allure of collecting all that imaginary stuff. Why is that so fucking addicting?

i totally agree with you and im glad someone finally asked this so i can come right out and say it, i could give 2 shits about my lvl!

i play purely for credit gain so i can download stuff from the galleries. i dont even like HV, never have, never will. i can honestly say HV is the worst thing i have ever played next to monopoly but at least its becoming more tolerable now that im not getting my ass kicked repeatedly in the arenas. i started out grinding lvls in IW and avoiding the arenas and selling all my garbage drops to the shop. now i only do the arenas i can once a day at new dawn and RoB when i have the tokens. if downloads became free tomorrow i would give away everything i have for free and wash my hands of HV forever.

The HV game is not that bad, it's funny that a hentai site has a rpg game, it has indeed some interesting stuff, it's a fine way to make the community participate and trough it get in touch with other users sharing experiences,etc. In general it's a good thing and a plus for the site to be there.

But truth be told, it's not an amusing and enjoyable game, in fact, after some minutes of play it becomes quite boring and sometimes even annoying. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) But mainly, what overwhelms me are the prices of the training and hath perks related to the game that are absolutely ridiculous. Just to think that to get to level 25 in Luck of the Draw you have to spent 36,840,660 C (according to the EH calc) makes me laugh.
I mean even the ones that have donate USD 1000 to the site, run H@H, host a server, post regularly, and have uploaded galleries will take a while to actually "finish" the game.

And that's the reason why I play the HV game (that it's not much time anyway), I want to see how far I'm able to get without spending any real money (not that I have anything against donating is more that I don't have enough money to spend on hentai)

I seem to spend most of my time these days investigating the mechanics of the game, at the expense of all the drops/credits/EXP I could get if I just played a few arenas. Then I tell everyone else what I've learned, so they can benefit from it. I must be crazy wackodotgif.

Oh, no multiple choices. Let's go with the addiction, then.

The reason I do HV is that it reminds me some of the old days with D&D and simpler games like Melee. By no means do I really consider myself a "serious" player, I just like toying around with different weapon sets (4 so far) and seeinf how things change in the very dynamic environment that is the HV.

One day I'm doing well with my Katana and light armor, the next I'm getting my rear handed to me by the same creatures. So I switch to my Florintine style and see if that does better - for some reason it usually does. For simple play I use the IW and often send in my Mage if he's been doing well and play with spell comboes and gettung used to handling Mystic Gems and Mana Convegences in the proper way. But it I just want to thump on things I have my tank that fills that simple role quite nicely infact - I may even give it an Arena shot soon if I can workout a shield problem that's come up.

But finding and solving these problems are just as enjoyable to me as gaining experience and other things. Dropped items infact make up about 90% of all the materials in my 4 weapon sets, and getting apiece of equipment that offers any kind of improvement is an exciting moment for me, even a decent set of gloves that gives something I didn't have before is good enough for me.

That's just me though, I'm rarely very seriouse about anything that I do mostly for fun - that would take the fun out of it. Me, I think I've found my path in the HV and I'm content with that. Watching others go through faster and getting more powerfull is fine as long as that is what they want, it's just not my thing.

I did just have an interesting idea though. Should anyone want a stray peice of equipment tested, send it to me and I'll plug it into the best set for it. Then after a period of testing, I'll give you a report of how it acted, helped, or hurt during the test - when the test is done the item in question will be returned with you having some insight as to what it may be used for in your weapon sets. A small renumeration would be appreciated, but getting to see some of the more exotic items that I can't get to yet would prove interesting to me.

Give it a thought, we should be helping each other more as there really is no compition outside of bragging rights. This would play into my interests and just might provide a benifit to my fellow HV players.

I do somewhat like the game but I voted 'Other reason.' because the game would be nothing without the forums, you can look at some people bitching about the latest update or chating about some random monsters and feel your somehow connected to them. it's the sense of community, I suppose I prefer looking at the forums more then actually playing the game, I really should at some point investigate the other parts of the forums more thoroughly and I will just once I get some spare time (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Other reason: Because I can play it in short bits between loading times and during waits for people to join my parties in Vindictus.

In the beginning, I play HentaiVerse because I wanted credits
I play HentaiVerse now because It make me fun!

i voted other because there are pretty much 3 reasons

1) i started cause i needed 300 creds to DL this one gallery
2) i keep playing because its fun and its a math crunching game with long term goals
3) its free

now the reasons i don't really care if the game dies are
1) the game is geared toward shelling out money i don't have to tenb to pay for a site that i use less than the game.
2) its unfinished and not properly balanced between different character builds/styles
