They actually did. Really high-end Sword Chucks were at one point the best bleeders in the game. Of course, I'm not sure more than 1-2 of those were ever found...

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Apr 5 2011, 12:27) They were mostly in there as a joke in the first place, and they didn't fill any particular niche. I liked their extremely high crit chance bonus, because a crit guarantees a weapon proc (PA, stun, etc). Offhanding a pair of chucks gave you a dramatically increased mainhand proc chance.

Let me put it this way: no one was using them. Out of the 15427 currently equipped one-handed weapons, 85 are sword chucks. Above level 100, the number drops to measly two. So while you theoretically might formulate a use for them, they weren't actually being used.

Well what about cotton? Who the hell uses cotton? It's useless. Why do we still have it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ?

3. I don't have any currently equipped, but I used one in RoB on IWBTH for some challenges (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Btw they were funnier when they make us more "stupid" (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (having negative INT bonus) Edit: QUOTE(coredumperror @ Apr 6 2011, 21:28) I liked their extremely high crit chance bonus, because a crit guarantees a weapon proc (PA, stun, etc). With the current rules of 2W, you don't need them for raising the proc chance. This post has been edited by cmdct: Apr 6 2011, 23:55

I started playing not to long ago, but the change to monster damage is killing my playtime (by killing me >_<)
Before the change I could get to ~50 in Grindfest, but now I'm lucky to make it to 20. That includes the use of good items at Normal difficulty.
If I may make a suggestion, could you change it so that the 1dmg minimum only takes effect at higher difficulty levels? Or maybe linked to the player's level so that at lower levels when HP/MP are lowest we don't get raped by chipping damage while higher levels who have more room for error/RNG spikes will be able to deal with it?
It's very difficult to make much progress when I only have 100mp to work with ^^;;

So, just because of that, I get 80% pointless cotton for my trophies? Why not just remove any cotton that is NOT spirit ward/thrice blessed? Cotton and leather pretty much fuck up ALL drops. Any time you get an exquisite - it's fucking cotton. Any time you turn in 200 trophies, 160 of them are fucking cotton/leather. Surely the drop rate should be significantly lower, if they are only useful for god battles? I mean you need to be lvl 100 to even start a god fight. So why do you get 10,000 pieces of useless crap through levels 1-99? Or is it just there to piss you off?

It took you awhile to get there, but DING DING DING. In all seriousness though, by definition, for something to be valuable, there needs to exist things that are not valuable. For something to be useful, there needs to exist things that are not useful. Tenboro could, of course, make every drop Exquiste Phase of Awesomeness. Then he'd have to crank up the difficulty to compensate. Then he'd have to invent Temporal Flux Armor of OMG thus rendering EPoA worthless and people would start complaining about all the shitty phase drops they get. Etc. etc. This post has been edited by Conquest101: Apr 7 2011, 07:56

Well no, he could just make gossamer/silk/phase/kevlar drop more frequently, but with shittier stats. That way the good ones would still be rare, but the bad ones wouldn't be entirely useless either.

Oh, I have a better idea. Why not just get rid of all the "bad" equipment and have legendaries drop all the time? That would be so much fun.
Incidentally, your assessment is wrong. Out of 20891 equipped cloth pieces, 11544 are cotton.
Stupid ideas elsewhere, please.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Apr 7 2011, 03:35) Stupid ideas elsewhere, please. How about 25 LotD, 100+ Rd BT actually drop something that reflects the amount for credits spent to get there, instead of the same old shit I got back with 10 LotD on Normal? Or is that also too stupid? This post has been edited by hitokiri84: Apr 7 2011, 11:16

Unless you have hard data to back that up, I'm going to discount it as a problem of perception rather than a system issue.

Changing the subject, you already started coding 0.5.2, or it's on hiatus for now?

Hmm? Sure I started coding it. I usually write the updates over a period of several weeks, whenever I'm bored/have some spare time.

Low levels are complaining Monsters are to strong and High Levels say they are to weak (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) They're weak now for 2 reasons: low HP, and low resistances. Per example mine is going to start surviving some of my T-storm hits with ~67% resistance. (Too far from that) But if by upgrading to uncommon she will get 3x HP, then it will be a pain in the ass right now for all elec mages. And I'm sure there's some other monsters in the same situation (IMG: https://forums.e-hentai.org/style_images/ambience/folder_post_icons/icon10.gif) This post has been edited by cmdct: Apr 7 2011, 18:18

So Uncommon get 3x HP? I hope one can upgrade low powerlevel monsters as well. Low levels will love my Hulk even more (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
