Hm, after reading through this thread a little, i wonder if it was ok for beginners (like me) to post certain text passages to ask for help on those (maybe with a certain amount of credits as trade-off?) by the more experienced translators on the board, which would also be a great way to improve on language skills i think. I've not done that many translations yet and normally read the whole thing before i accept a bounty to check if i'm really up to the task. But even then sometimes a line or two, with which i'm later having problems then, slips through when checking and knowing to have a backup in cases like this would be nice.
Also i can understand if it angers experienced translators when they see someone not even getting a causative form right or giving a fuck at all. Nonetheless i think since no one is getting really payed for doing translations within the bounty system and it's open to non-professionals, the standards also shouldn't be set too high, or should they?
When looking at past translations i certainly find one or two spots where i think my translation was inaccurate or where i simply made a mistake (getting those and especially the ones sorted out, where i now certainly know i'am wrong but still can't figure it out was btw. partly the reason for me to write this post). But even so in my opinion having such a translation is still better than having none in many cases.
Would be glad to hear some opinions on this and hope i won't get killed for some statements. (IMG:[
