If you see this, that means you're seeing the new forum server. There are a few changes in the forum software itself since the old one, which isn't really related to the move, but I took the opportunity to fix some shortcomings when I had a separate environment for it.

- The forum will now intelligently update static linked images to Galleries with a current key, to avoid relying on a referrer hack. This means that these images will now also work when you use HTTPS.

- When you are logged on to the forums, HTTPS is now default unless you check off "Do not use secure connection". You can change between them at any time just by changing the URL.

- Forum search should now be much faster.

- Everything else, too.

- The way the forum retrieves and displays karma/power/award/etc data from the rest of the system has been made much less retarded. This avoids a whole bunch of performance problems both with updates and with actually displaying the stats. Note that unless you've logged on lately, your display will not be refreshed yet.

- Karma no longer "ticks", instead it regens a tiny amount every second. Actual regen rate should be the same.

- The "Live Chat" hasn't been working since forever, after Sun broke the way it loads, and has therefore been removed for now.

There are quite a few internal modifications to the code, so let me know if you encounter weirdness.

Hope the live chat gets a makeover. There are some Firefox (maybe Chrome too?) extensions that allow for chat amongst everyone visiting the same site, without needing to log into IRC or anything. I'm not sure how much control you'd have over it though, but it might be worth looking into.

Karma points and power aren't showing up properly. Other than that, no issues.

The karma power bar doesn't seem to be updating. I imbued a few people but it still shows full power.

It's fairly trivial to make a "shoutbox" type live chat, but half of the point was giving people easy access to the IRC channel. Not that anyone really seem to care about it. I'll see what I end up doing about it, but the thing that was there today wasn't working anyway since some security sandboxing added to Java broke the way it loads, and it's not being maintained. Which seems to be the story for most of those clients, and I really can't be arsed to write my own.

It's not supposed to be. That hack-ish way of displaying the data isn't used anymore, so it'll be removed when I get around to it.

Shout boxes are too small and get spammed up like the FSZ.

Beyond the renamed karma levels, I lost a point of power. Not a big deal in any way, but combined with being "saintlike" it caught my attention.

"New Reports" still doesn't work.

It doesn't even have a 0 next to it anymore.

Holy crap...I lost 7 points of Power, my negative karma went up by one, and my positive karma went down by 150 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

My karma also isn't correct. I'm supposed to have 64,599 positive karma according to my control panel on e-hentai.org.

That's, uhm.. weird. Your stats actually show up correctly in the database, so that looks like a display error. I'll have to look at it a bit closer tomorrow, but your stats haven't actually changed.

(And it seems like they just updated, so that's that.)
